Job Mission

Your main mission will be to guide the scrum teams, ensure timely delivery, facilitate the scrum rituals and helping the team to improve itself without losing the technical complex perspective. As a Senior Scrum Master, you are successful when your team is the best agile team in ASML. It is your mission to ensure your 2 teams provide and improve software that enables fully automated solutions for controlling and managing the EUV light source.

Job Description

You will be a leader for the team. Although you have no authority over Scrum team members, you do have authority over the process and play a crucial role in challenging the team to become the best it can be. More specifically, your job will be to guide 2 Scrum teams in their next development step and to ensure a mindset of continuous improvement. You will help the team ensure their predictability by removing impediments along the way. You facilitate growth of people and motivate them to take responsibilities which lay out of their comfort zone. More specifically, your main aim is to make your teams self-organizing by maturing them and helping them to take the next steps.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To lead, build and facilitate the team to become high performing focusing on moving from doing Agile to being Agile
  • To create transparency and alignment on team speed, predictability and team and stakeholder feedback
  • To coach team members in their individual development on an operational level and to coach on team dynamics for 2 different SW teams
  • To manage team stability; Have conversations with stakeholders about budgeting and resources and to ensure having the right competencies/personalities to have a well-balanced team
  • To signal and remove impediments in order to ensure timely delivery from the scrum team
  • To help organizing/coaching on PI events
  • To facilitate Scrum related meetings within your teams
  • To drive continuous improvement mindset in the team (gathering input from your teams and the stakeholders)

Education

BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Mechanics or Electronics

Experience

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience with building self-organizing Scrum teams within a high-tech, enterprise environment.
  • Preferably a technical background or a strong interest in software.
  • Experience working in an Agile (SAFe) software environment

Context of the position

Within ASML the next generation of lithography machines is being developed in the EUV (Extreme Ultra Violet) program. In the program a new light source (Source) is introduced which creates EUV.

The software for the EUV Source is created by ESE (Embedded Software EUV)department, which is a part of the Sector Development & Engineering. You will be the Scrum Master of two different teams within F&T (Flow and Temperature) working in the ESE department.

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work.
