Job Mission

In the position of the Re-Use Lead Engineer you take the responsibility together with the fellow team membersfor exploring and initiating re-use and waste reduction opportunities.

You are responsible for technical assessments of excess & obsolete parts. Your goal is to re-use as much value of these parts as possible. You support intake of the parts by participating in the triage. After technical assessment you cooperate with the re-use project leader to define a business case. You initiate work packages for the functional cluster team. The parts will be remanufactured and used “as-new” in the original or even new application. You align with the re-use PL’s, Function Owners and Function Architects.

You create significant added value for ASML by gathering learnings from the used parts (lifetime calculation, failure mode, design improvement, design rules etc.). You participate in embedding these learnings to the process, tooling, documentation and design guidelines within each project and functional cluster.

Job Description

  • Perform technical assessment of parts, participate in triage.
  • Support definition of business cases for excess & obsolete parts.
  • Together with the functional cluster teams define requirements for remanufacturing of parts to an as-new status.
  • Act as a single point of contact person for the re-use projects representing MDEV D&E Re-Use team.
  • You interact with module designers and architects on technical content.
  • Become a technical leader with focus of re-use.
  • Gather learnings about used parts, process them and generate input for the feedback loop.
  • Contribute to the development of Re-Use methodology, help to share and embed it into the existing ASML process framework.
  • Apply and validate the re-use methodology on pilot projects together with the PL’s and the D&E teams from re-use organization.
  • Work intensively with manufacturing, suppliers and supply chain management to ensure pilot release testing of the proposed re-use opportunities and a smooth transition to volume production.
  • Be responsible for the technical product documentation and design implementation towards manufacturing and field service.

Education

  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant ASML experience.
  • TC/NX experience is preferred.
  • Experience in design in a complex technical multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical engineering is a must.

  • The D&E MDEV re-use competence team is part of the D&E MDEV DUV & Apps department and works for the cross sector re-use cluster. The mission of the re-use competence team is to:
  • Accelerate learning about the lifetime and failure modes of products, re-use processes and design guidelines to enable re-use.
  • Reduce cost within our operations.
  • Eliminate waste.
  • To collectively contribute to ASML’s circular economy and sustainability goals.
