Job Mission

As an Industrial Engineer Metrology you represent both the Twinscan factory and the customer support organization in the product and process development. In this role you secure the product meets the required Cycle time, field availability and operational cost. You ensure the product and process design is such that your colleagues at the factory and at our customers sites are able to efficiently calibrate, test and service our complex equipment. You can see yourself as the bridge between the design project and the end customer in the field and the people working in the Twinscan factory.

The Metrology competence enables and implements control of the ASML system and its functions on nanometer levels of accuracy by means of mathematical modeling of the system and its functions. The products delivered are software packages.
The Metrology competence connects multiple technical disciplines. You need to be able to keep a broad system view when performing your job.

Job Description

  • Enable design for Industrialization
  • Review design of tests & functionalities and understand suitability for execution at production and in the field.
  • Represent customer service and the factory during the design phase and make sure the industrialization requirements are implemented in the design
  • Provide design alternatives / motivate good practices in design with internal and external domain examples to improve design and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Understand the parameters & updates done by Metrology tests in a physical sense to check for technical dependencies to external interfaces.
  • Minimize operational costs for volume products by improving machine cycle time and availability (up-time)
    Facilitate production and customer service
  • Deliver knowledge, procedures, sequence and diagnostic information for new products to production and our service organization.
  • Support (on-site) complex troubleshooting issues (escalations) during new product introduction phase
  • Perform troubleshooting to adequate level and escalate to development if further in-depth analysis is needed.
  • Identify structural improvements and create business cases for DE projects to solve them.
  • Maintain/solve comments to improve quality of procedures
  • Analyze global product performance and define requirements for design improvement.


M.Sc. in Engineering, Industrialization or Physics discipline
(A plus if candidates is familiar with Industrial/Production engineering, Value engineering and Design for Manufacturing)
Or Bachelor with experience within ASML.


2 years or more experience as Manufacturing/Service engineer of complex products involving SW calibrations and qualifications is preferable.

Personal skills

Team player, Good analytical skills, Interest in technology, Good professional communication, highly motivated, eager to learn, proactive and flexible.

Excellent communication in English, communication in Dutch is an advantage
