Job Mission

To execute advanced research with application to ASML electron beam metrology products, aimed at future electronic devices in the semiconductor industry. This includes electron-matter interaction modelling, design of (electron beam metrology) experiments and literature studies, with the goal to create novel concepts and solutions.

Job Description

Responsibilities of a researcher in the “SEM and Process Modelling” group at ASML Research:
• Perform simulations on device structures to predict SEM performance capabilities
• Help set up a design-of-experiments for testing new technology and analyze the data
• Generate new ideas and solutions for current and future ASML metrology products
• Collaborate with SEM specialists in the project team and in other departments of ASML

Education

PhD in Physics with experience in computational modelling / simulations

Experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher with the following expertise:
•Experience and affinity with performing and analyzing scientific simulations
•Understanding of physical principles of materials and structures at the nanometer scale
•Working experience in electron-matter interaction, condensed matter physics, ebeam metrology is appreciated

Context of the position

Within ASML, the sector Research is responsible for creating ideas and solutions that contribute to the ASML roadmaps.The group “SEM and Process modelling” is responsible for innovations in the area of SEM metrology and computational lithography.This project is part of a collaboration with other parts of the ASML organization, like ASML-HMI in CA, USA (HMI is active in the area of electron optics).

Other information

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
