Are you a Bachelor student in the field of Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering? Are you enthusiastic about Embedded Software and Linux? Then this graduation project could be interesting for you!
The Software Infrastructure and Computer System Department (SICS) within ASML provides high quality software and hardware solutions to enable other ASML departments to create new products. Hardware virtualization of computers is a key factor to speed up product development and testing. This assignment focusses on setting up an environment to host virtualized versions of our embedded computers over the network.
Your assignment is to study how Quick the EMUlator (QEMU) tool can be used to virtualize the embedded computers. This entails the following sub-goals:
• Understand our infrastructure: board hardware blocks, booting mechanism, OS level, and interaction with other hosts over network.
• Propose a design to connect the virtual hosts over network to Control Host and build a prototype.
• Help to introduce this new design to our testing facility.
• Bachelor student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related.
• Enthusiastic with embedded software and Linux.
• Affinity with network technology.
• Some experience with C and python.
• Can work independently, curious and willing to learn.
This is a Bachelor graduation internship for 5 days a week with a duration of a minimum 3-5 months. The start date is as soon as possible.
Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.
