The TwinScan Factory (TF) is responsible for the production and installation of DUV wafer scanners. The FAB department within TF is responsible for building and delivery of the ASML TwinScan systems, with setup and qualification through functional testing and installation of modules upto complete ASML systems. All this is done in accordance with strict quality norms. Within this TwinScan factory, TS is the technical trouble shooting department; The department is setup in 5 technical competences, with 3 teams in each competency: in total 15 teams of about 12 engineers each to support Twinscan Factory in shifts. Twinscan Installations are also supported by the TS organization, if necessary at customer’s site.

Job Mission

As department we provide quality solutions for technical disturbances to secure delivery performance of our litho systems.
Manage the increase of solving speed (shorten disturbance duration) and enable the solving power of execution. Secure transparent and successful escalation management.
Drive upstream quality and, together with the natural teams, implement and roll-put Lean deployment.

Job Description

  • Management/leadership: manage team, leadership, proper staffing of the group and a productive working environment to ensure the desired level of drive and flexibility. Dividing the tasks within the team, prioritizing, taking responsibility for the correct and timely fulfillment of all tasks, solving problems. Takes the lead in case of extreme escalations, protects the team. Manage the workload, set priorities and assure timely and correct execution of all department tasks, solve bottle necks. Manage skill level and training so TS can solve all issue’s independent without escalation.
  • Member competence staff team: Organize team and competence according goals
  • Member extended staff TS: capacity planning, roadmap, KPI, evaluation, policy, etc.
  • New Product Introduction: participant in the release for Volume, including the data- and know how transfers. Participating in pilot activities (ie TRM), in order to extend knowledge on new machine types.
  • Planning/Output: managing and implementation of production support in detail and, within the framework of the Production Plan and the capacity available, taking the necessary flexibility into account, the agreed quality, and the guarantee of delivery (reliability of delivery). Solving problems and prioritizing. Informing all those involved of changes and compiling recovery plans.
  • Analysis and reporting: direct the process of analyzing the production support processes on effectiveness and efficiency, in order to: deliver management information, KPI, indicate structural problems, enhance the predictability of problems and how to avoid them. Explains and communicates with customers about technical subjects.
  • Improvement: ensure proposing and attuning of improvements. Making proposals for the improvement of not only the products but also the processes. Lead improvement projects and 8D’s, specially in LEAN deployment. Evaluate the effects of these actions/improvements.
  • Cooperation: Manage the cooperation and harmony within the group and between the different departments by giving support, motivating employees, finding solutions and sharing information.


Higher Technical College/Technical University Graduate (Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electronics/Physics or comparable technical education)


  • At least 6 years experience in a production environment with high tech products and complex production processes.
  • Broad technical and business knowledge.
  • Extended experience with production and engineering.
  • Know how of the products involved.
  • Knowledge on higher vocational level within specific areas of technology, combined with some years experience.

Context of the position

Reports functionally to the Competence GL TS. Manages one TS shift team. Interfaces internal with all departments within TF (Execution, LAB, FAB), Customer Support, Development & Engineering, and Account Support.
Interfaces external with suppliers and customers.

Other information

  • Working hours are in 2-shift (Shift-GL).
  • Is expected to travel (infrequently, 5-10%) to a customer site.
