Job Mission

To provide financial planning and analysis for assigned groups.

Manages, prepares, administers, and directs the control of the budget.Manages the activities of the financial analyst staff.Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control, providing relevant fiscal information to executive management team.Monitors division and department adherence to approved budget.Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description

  • Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding annual financial plans and quarterly financial forecasts.
  • Serve as a financial business partner for the R&D Organization, building key relationships and supporting the achievement of the department’s priorities and key objectives.
  • Review operating expenses and capital expenditures to understand variances and improve future forecasts.
  • Assist in the development of monthly packages to be utilized for financial management reporting, including variance explanations, forecast updates, scenario building and other analyses.
  • Assist in the development of the annual operating plan (budget) and manage monthly and quarterly forecast updates for the R&D Organization.
  • Assist in the monthly/quarter-end close process by reviewing open purchase orders and coordinating with various business partners to estimate incurred expenses to inform forecast updates.
  • Provides monthly financial forecasts and review/analysis of operating results.
  • Provides support for month/year end close.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
  • Establishes and maintains databases of pertinent information for analysis.
  • Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance.
  • Manages the development and implementation of processes, procedures, control and/or action planning for conducting special studies to analyze complex financial models or situations.
  • Works closely with assigned organizations to develop tools, analysis and metrics that enable targeted financial performance.

Education

  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, in applicable field or equivalent experience. Typically has 5+ years of direct work experience.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Excellent internal customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.
  • In depth knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Spotfire and electronic e-mail systems.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial theory and application to operational decision making.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling techniques.
  • Ability to identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly.
  • In depth skills related to budgeting and cost management.
  • Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
