Introduction

Are you a Master student with affinity for Image Analysis or Machine Learning? Are you looking for an interesting graduation project? Then this assignment at ASML Delft could be suitable for you!

Background Information

Together with ASML research we are working on high throughput inspection tools. Advancing data and image analysis to keep up with the increasing throughput is a big challenge. As part of the ASML team in Delft, you will investigate how this challenge can be met in the future. You will be working with colleagues both in the Netherlands (Delft, Veldhoven) and the US.

Your Assignment

During this assignment you will investigate novel methods to identify defects in SEM images, and compare these methods to established benchmarks using validated datasets. Comparison should be based not only on capability to detect anomalies in the image but also e.g. on computational load. Work could include making an overview of potential methods, selecting most suitable candidates, implementing/optimizing prototypes, validation, and presenting a quantitative comparison.

Your Profile

• You are a Master student in Computer Sciences or Mathematics with an affinity for image analysis and/or machine learning.
• You have strong communication skills and you are good in teamwork.
• Proficiency in English is required.

This is a Master Graduation internship for 5 days a week with a duration of 6 months minimum. The start date is as soon as possible.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.

We build some of the most amazing machines that you will ever see, and the applications to run them. Never satisfied, we measure our performance in units that begin with pico or nano.

We believe we can always do better. We believe the winning idea can come from anyone. We love what we do – not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard. At ASML we are always pushing technology further.

Students: Getting ready for the real-world
Teamwork is key within ASML. Our R&D team is more than 5,500 people strong and worldwide we form one big team with over 25,000 employees. These colleagues have 123 different nationalities and work at our major sites on three continents.
