Introduction

ASML is an innovation leader in the semiconductor industry. We provide microchip makers with everything they need – hardware, software and services – to mass produce patterns on silicon through lithography.

Software is important for ASML. As computer chips continue to decrease in size, it would be impossible for our customers to manufacture at dimensions of 10 nm or smaller without the software we develop.

Are you curious to get the full picture of how we develop our scanner products and how we are in control of its software integration? We offer you a seat at the top of our software product development, in which you will oversee the software integration, software system qualification and releasing of our software.

Job Mission

As a Main Delivery Owner (MDO) you are not implementing, qualifying or integrating the software yourself, however, you are responsible to coordinate and align (plan, track, chase and communicate) it as a Project Lead to ensure the software is delivered, integrated, qualified and released in time with the intended quality. You do this in partnership with the more Senior Software Release Project Lead. The MDO and the Release Project Lead run the project together.

  • Create and execute the software release plan, managing the content and quality standards, with all projects delivering;
  • Lead by example and set the standard by acting as the first internal customer;
  • Secure your projects deliverables and quality with your team, which will integrate, qualify and release the software deliveries;
  • Support our customers and local offices all over the world in their request for releasing containments and solutions;
  • Report out and advice the product team with the integration status, roll-out status, risks and opportunities.

Job Description

  • Manage the software deliveries related to the new features, customer/factory requests, pilot support, change control deliveries with the product team;
  • Deliver an integration, test and release plan including phase transitions with the required and agreed content;
  • Manage a team of Software Integrators, Testers, Configuration Engineer, contributing Software Project Lead's, external parties, IT projects together with the Software Product Architect and Software Product Test Architect (typical team size is between 5 to 15 people and the team size changes with project demands);
  • Contribute to an ever evolving process related to qualification and releasing software;
  • You are the backup for the Software Release Project Lead.

Education

A technical Bachelor degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Software Release Project Leader (or in case you have ASML experience, Project Lead experience is not a must, but you should have at least several years of experience in a leadership role e.g. Team Lead, Scrum Master, Main Delivery Owner);
  • Experience working in a software integration release team;
  • Experience with large scale software development;
  • Experience with embedded complex systems (preferably within the high tech industry).

Personal skills

  • Great communication skills and able to interface on all levels within the organization;
  • Extravert;
  • Leader;
  • Able to set targets.

Context of the position

Within ASML, the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification, design and engineering of the ASML products. Within D&E, the Software (SW) Cluster is concerned with the design, development, testing and integration of the complete software package which drives a generation of ASML products. The department D&E SW Quality and Integration (SW DE SQI) is responsible for the test, integration and releasing of newly developed scanner software.
