Job Mission

We enable the creation and advancement of tomorrow’s microchips.

We train Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography equipment service engineers on Cymer’s quickly evolving leading edge EUV light source sub-systems.To support the top semi-conductor companies (ASML customers) in the world with ensuring their systems are available 24/7, we train EUV light source principles, system functionality, and preventive and corrective service actions.We partner with our training colleagues in Veldhoven to design and develop performance based instructor and web-based training programs which incorporate the most relevant technical procedures and equipment recovery processes.

The Global Training Team is a driving force in maximizing system performance and availability for ASML’s customers, paving the way to bringing smaller and faster microchips which enhance all electronic equipment utilized in everyday life.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description

Training Operations Project Lead (PL) is responsible for EUV Training Operations quality in San Diego and is part of the Global Training Center, Customer Support and Training leadership team. This role supports the San Diego EUV Source Training manager proactively by executing multiple shift operational projects and technical training delivery plans; onsite and remotely.Strong situational awareness and critical thinking capability is required to independently anticipate and monitor the needs of the technical training organization and respond with effective and coordinated planning.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to build and maintain stakeholder alignment, manage analytical problems solving, and trust with Global Training Center and Training leadership.To be responsible for driving and meeting training key performance indicators, excellent business acumen, instructional systems design and delivery skills are paramount.

  • Drives for a proactive safety culture in all aspects of training operations
  • Manages technical training courses for customer and/or employees.
  • Meets Key Performance Indicator targets for training operations; ex: supply and demand, trainer development and instruction quality ~K1 and K2 feedback.
  • Interfaces with internal and external partners and stakeholders to receive feedback and drive course and delivery improvement
  • Analyzes organizational development, learning theory, motivation theory, new materials, methods, and techniques to drive feedback to curriculum development teams.
  • Utilizes constrained resources efficiently and escalates gaps in coverage with partners.
  • Manages and sustains training facilities, equipment maintenance, and tool and parts inventories.
  • Directly supports the budget forecast to sustain training operations that sustains KPI targets.
  • Supports training schedule development to enable Demand Supply and Completion metrics; site readiness.
  • Qualifies trainers based on new and sustaining training requirements.
  • Proactively manages time and expectations according to operational priorities
  • Analyzes and communicates training effectiveness and constraints, and promotes solutions.
  • Leverages best practices and develops improvements to training administration and operational processes.
  • Cross-functionally collaborates with organization to provide technical solutions to system performance and coverage issues.
  • Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to manage priorities and time to align to mission critical activities.
  • Ensures excellent verbal and written cross-functional communication in meetings, email and other means to ensure seamless alignment and coordination with partners and stakeholders.
  • Creates presentations as required to support internal and external project reviews
  • May provide advanced management direction to a technical subject matter area.
  • Approx. 10 – 20% travel – domestic / international
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Physics, or other technical related field of study.Master’s or graduate degree in learning or organizational development capacity preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant, work related experience in technical training and complex project operations management. Large scale capital equipment, semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with leaders that build trust and influence multiple levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, lead, motivate and direct teams without authority.
  • Strong analytical and technical project management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Advanced technical and business writing skills.
  • Experience with presenting technical or complex issues effectively at various levels.
  • Good understanding of process improvement methodologies (Ex: LEAN, Six Sigma)

  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, and training delivery.
  • Solid understanding of ESL learning challenges and methods to overcome them.
  • Ability to analyze complex learning situations and evaluate factors: their relationship to adult learning and suggest solutions to close diversity/multi-cultural learning gaps.
  • Exercises excellent judgment in applying technical training methods, techniques, and criterion reference for measuring student progress.
  • Experienced with delivering technical trainer evaluations and respective coaching techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate trends and mitigate risks by providing viable solutions.
  • Ability to influence/negotiate through formal and informal networks.
  • Good meeting practices (proper attendance, agendas, start/stop times, minutes, actions, follow-through).
  • Self-starter, self-motivator; willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Excellent business judgment and ability to independently define and track short/long-term goals and resources.
  • Minimum of intermediate use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic e-mail systems.
