Job Mission

ASML is a leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or chips. As an intern for the software research and development (R&D) team, you will develop high quality software and contribute to all phases of the development process from designing to release.

Job Description

As an intern, you will be responsible for developing and testing software algorithms. A good candidate should exhibit strategic thinking, be self-motivated and collaborative with team members.


PhD., Master's or Bachelors in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related areas, or equivalent experience.



  • Knowledge of software development – numerical simulation, modeling, or similar
  • Experience developing software in Python

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of software design principles and software engineering processes
  • Experience with C++, Git, JIRA, or similar
  • HPC - High Performance Computing
  • Semiconductor process and lithography knowledge

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive sense of ownership
  • Self-motivated

Context of the position

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings.
