Job Mission

The mission of Customer Support (CS) Safety Engineer is to enable our field service engineers to be successful in supporting our customers. CS Safety Engineer is also responsible, in collaboration with EH&S, for ensuring safety of engineering, research, and manufacturing test equipment, tools, and procedures, and owns the CS safety processes to insure those. As an expertyou will function as the safety interface between CS Local organizations and ASML Headquarters.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description

  • Responsible for Customer Support Service Engineering safety and compliance of EUV source products, tooling, and procedures.
  • Domestic and overseas travels for 10-20% of time may be required.
  • Responsible for CS requirements in the safety chapter of EUV source system design specifications.
  • Reviews design guidance documents for specific risk areas.
  • Ensure designs of EUV source products and tooling meet safety and compliance requirements by providing safe design requirements and guidelines, participating in FMEA, concept anddesign reviews, and reviewing system and sub-system performance and design specifications, validation test plans and test reports.
  • Ensure designs, installation, and operation of manufacturing, engineering, and research equipment and tooling meet safety and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure standard manufacturing procedures, engineering testing and lab procedures, technology development testing and lab procedures, and field service procedures are reviewed for machine and human safety, and appropriate measures are implemented.
  • Evaluate tasks and procedures and provide recommendations for safe operation and maintenance of complex industrial machinery.
  • Write, assemble, and maintain files of product safety and regulatory compliance reports.
  • Work closely with project leads, competence engineers and functional architects to develop and implement technical strategies in support of the company’s product safety and compliance roadmaps.
  • Provide presentations and reports as required to update stakeholders with plans and progresses, identify risks and opportunities, and support key decision points.
  • Manage stakeholders.
  • Support product marketing and customer support for their discussions with external customers on product and human safety and compliance.
  • Handle safety and compliance related escalations from customers, factory, and engineering.
  • Ensure employees receive safety and process training as required to ensure product and human safety, in collaboration with EH&S
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related, technical field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant, work related experience.
  • Experience with complex system design of large industrial systems.
  • Experience with engineering activities for designing products to meet safety and compliance requirements.
  • Possess knowledge of one or more of the following risk areas.Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal, High pressure, Radiation, Dangerous gas and vacuum, Materials and substances, and Ergonomics.
  • Possess knowledge of safety methodologies such as FMEA, Risk and Hazard analysis.
  • Possess knowledge of international and industrial compliance requirements such as CE and SEMI S2.
  • Possess knowledge of risk management while bringing new technologies to R&D, prototype, pilot, and production phases of product development.
  • Possess knowledge of industrial equipment safety standards such as NFPA79, EN60204, and EN61010.
  • Ability to cross functional boundaries to build relationships with many areas in the company.
  • Ability to search, listen, and recognize company and customers’ needs, and translate into roadmaps and requirements.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a proven capability to clearly convey and discuss technical matters in both written and verbally.
