Introduction

A mechanical design engineer designs (sub-)modules / tools, in cooperation with other disciplines and suppliers, within the limits of given system specifications, costs, and project planning. In some cases involvement in realization- or integration phase of a project is required.

Job Mission

Specify, design, develop, realize, integrate, and test (sub-)modules / tools, in cooperation with other disciplines and suppliers, within the limits of system specifications, costs, and project planning, to ensure the timely realization of (sub-)modules as part of competitive, achievable, and serviceable products.

Developed product meets all specifications, deviations are accepted. Product specifications are feasible, known to all relevant parties and relevant underlying assumptions and restrictions are understood, technical product documentation (TPD) is up-to-date and of good quality.

Job Description

  • Executes mono disciplinary engineering tasks (realization or implementation) and tests specifications and contributes to or produces partial designs.
  • Some autonomy within own area of expertise, works independently, within practices and procedures. Issues are discussed with team/TL.
  • In-depth knowledge of own tasks within own area of expertise and basic sub module & module knowledge.
  • Understands engineering problems related to own tasks and proposes different solutions to choose from, in an environment with some technical uncertainties.
  • Key interfaces: TL, own team and PL and interfaces incidentally with ASML suppliers of high volume products.

Education

Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

  • 0-2 years relevant working experience. Work experience with Unigraphics NX required. ASML experience preferred, since you will need to create/update and release TPD.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering. Experience with precision engineering or opto-mechanics is an advantage, not required.
  • Understands engineering problems related to own tasks and proposes different solutions to choose from, in an environment with some technical uncertainties.
  • Executes mono disciplinary engineering tasks (realization or implementation) and tests specifications and contributes to or produces partial designs.

Personal skills

  • Team player with good communicational skills.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Detail oriented (quality focus).
  • Flexible.

Context of the position

You will be part of a project team and report directly to the team lead who is in charge of the detailed activity plans. The project leader defines scope and timing of project milestones. Specification of requirements typically come from a mechanical architect or lead engineer. Sometimes communication with ASML suppliers is required.

You will become part of the MDEV Yieldstar group of which your groupleader will be the hiring manager.

Some autonomy within own area of expertise, works independently, within practices and procedures.
