Are you challenged by contributing to our successful world-class finance department as a hands-on Financial Specialist? Your job is to work in a dynamic and international environment, being part of a high-tech company.

Role and responsibilities

The Financial Specialist will be part of the ASML Finance of Global Enabling Services (GES) Financial Services and be responsible for compliance and accounting for Taiwan legal entities. He or she advices the business on accounting and ensures external and internal reporting requirements (US GAAP / Local GAAP) as well as ensuring tax compliance.

As a Financial Specialist, you are expected to ensure the financial statements are correct and complete creating the basis for a clean audit trail – with proper substantiation and specification. Being able to make the translation between our primary US GAAP books and Local GAAP financial statements and into the indirect and direct tax obligations is crucial in this role.

Your responsibilities are as follows:

1.Bookkeeping and compliance
Account Receivable posting – check related SO/PO/custom data, recognize revenue and issue GUI/commercial invoice and ensure the compliance
Reconcile revenue recognition to VAT-output for systems, services, credits, rebate, gift, buyback, returns, exchange, etc.
Arrange for timely preparation of VAT/GUI filings and review VAT/GUI fillings from a financial perspective
Tax Refund support – prepare the related document
Monthly withholding tax filing and reconciliation
Bi-monthly stamp tax filing
Bi-monthly science park management fee filing

2.Financial Reporting
Coordinate statutory financial reporting process for legal entities in Taiwan including alignment with Shared Service Centers in Korea and the Netherlands
Perform audit on annual inventory and fixed assets physical count and scrap process
Ensure compliance with local GAAP and report to differences with US GAAP
Support on tax data template (TDT) of one entity per Corporate’s request

3.Audit Coordination
Prepare / assist in supporting documentation for statutory audit and income tax return compliance, including CIT filling from a financial perspective

4.Assisting management as required on any tasks and projects

Education and experience

-Minimum 5 years’ experience with MNC or at least 2 years’ Big 4 or equivalent accounting experience in an international business environment.
-Strong understanding of financial accounting processes; Experience with automation of reporting processes in an SAP/Oracle environment and/or experience with e.g., robotics is a pre.
-Experience with Taiwanese tax compliance and tax certificate report preparation.
-Knowledge of / experience with applicable tax accounting rules in relation to US GAAP / IFRS / Local GAAP and related processes.
-Fluent in written & spoken English and Chinese
