ASML is increasingly visible to the outside world and is recognized as one of Europe’s top performing companies and a globally important supplier of chip-making equipment. We also play an active role in the communities that we are part of. Due to our visibility, the media is more and more interested in who we are, what we do and what we stand for. Our technology, our people, our financial results, but also our role in the semiconductor industry and in our society are topics of interest to the outside world, and therefore to the media.
To keep up with this growing interest, to ensure that we can tell our own stories and to support our business goals, we are strengthening our media team at our headquarters in Veldhoven. We are looking for a junior colleague with a technology/science background to join us.
Will you take up the challenge and help us unlock the many stories of ASML to the media?

Role and responsibilities

This is a junior media relations position with a focus on technology and business-related content. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop messaging and media activities with a clear focus on technology and our business. You are a reliable and friendly contact for journalists. Through your media activities, which are in-line with our brand and business goals, you will support ASML’s reputation.
The media team in Veldhoven currently consists of two people who work closely with colleagues in Asia and the U.S. – it is a small team with a huge audience.

This is a junior position, and we are looking forward to training a new colleague on the job. We want to see the personality, attitude and communications skills that are the necessary basics for becoming a good media relations manager.

The focus of this job is on technology and business media. You prepare messaging, write press releases, arrange media interviews, and interact with journalists from the Dutch and international media. You also further develop our media monitoring system, and you provide analytics and reports to evaluate our effectiveness. As a member of the media relations team, you review presentations and manage our mailbox.

You speak and write English fluently and you have some basic Dutch and/or are willing to learn/accelerate.

In this role, business understanding and recognizing our different target audiences is a prerequisite for successful media relations. You are able to maintain an open and honest relationship with the media and work with approved messaging. You have what it takes to represent ASML and to be part of the team.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology/science
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a technology/science/busines environment
  • A high affinity with communications and the media
  • Ability to translate complex (technical) content into meaningful and engaging language
  • Strong stakeholder management skills: ability to influence and network


  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing) and basic level of Dutch/willing to learn
