Introduction to the job

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at ASML San Jose, you will develop low-noise high-stability electrical modules for new-generation products of e-Beam inspection and metrology systems for the semiconductor industry.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

·Feasibility study for new design and build simulation model for concept design of ultra-low noise analog electronics

·Design electrical board-level schematic according to the requirement document

·Design PCB layout or guide PCB layout engineer based on the schematic

·Discussion with different stakeholders within company for function and modules’ specifications and requirements

·Make requirement document and design document

·Build prototype and test to validate the design and improve the performance

·Create technical production files for manufacturing, including PCB design

·Communicate with manufacturing supplier to solve technical issue in manufacturing

·Support system integration with the designed function/modules in the clean room

·Analysis/review for technical issues in system

Education and experience

Bachelors with 5+ years of hands-on experience or Masters with 2+ years of hands-on experience. Degree in electrical engineer or related major.

Preferred qualifications

·Strong design capability on analog circuits with fair handling capability on digital circuit

·Hands-on experience of schematic capture, schematic level simulation, PCB layout, module-design (cooperation with Mechanical Engineer), and trouble-shooting

·High-precision amplifier (board level) design, including linear and logarithmic amplifier

·Large power high stable Laser/LED driver design

·High-voltage amplifier design with kV’s output range and mV-level noise

·Low-noise high-stability current source design

·Precision ADC and DAC application experience

·Familiar with test equipment such as multi-meter, LCR meter, signal / function generator, oscilloscope, signal / spectral analyzer, and network analyzer

·Familiar with discreet components such as BJT, MOSFET, TVS, Laser Diode, Photo-Diode

·Experience with capital equipment in semiconductor industry is preferred.

·Knowledge and experience of board level and module level shielding and grounding is a plus

Personal Skills

·Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

·Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

·May require travel internationally dependent on business needs – up to 15% of the time.
