The Technical Asset Manager is responsible for the business continuity and uptime of the production facilities of ASML. Together with your colleagues and the suppliers of CRE F&M you are responsible for all the buildings and business critical assets such as: vacuum and abatement, process gases, air handling, water treatment, electrical and safety systems, civil assets etc. Your core task is to recognize the business needs and optimize the uptime and performance of the systems and assets in our portfolio.

Job Mission

As Technical Asset Manager you ensure that the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities for ASML’s site-, building- and technical asset(systems) is secured and optimized. You translate business needs and manage the team of suppliers that execute the asset management and maintenance activities (preventive, corrective and long term maintenance). CRE Facilities & Maintenance has professional partnerships with suppliers based on output, performance and risk-based contracts. The Technical Asset Manager works in a team of Contract Managers and a Hard Service Specialist. Together you act as a demand managers towards the suppliers, and make sure they deliver their best asset management services to ASML. You are the specialist that has knowledge about the installations and systems at ASML Veldhoven, know the business sectors and understand how the CRE assets support the production lines of ASML. From that position you connect both worlds to ensure reliable and high-quality maintenance.
As Technical Asset Manager you are also closely involved in the decision making on replacement and upgrade plans. Together with the Hard Service Specialist you make the strategic analysis and derive a plan on replacements and upgrades. In this process you provide the technical know-how and drive the conversation with suppliers from the technical point of view. You guide suppliers in the execution of their maintenance year plan by (amongst others) coordinating facility stops, ensuring alignment with the production planning, acting on unexpected situations and improving business continuity strategies. Furthermore, in close collaboration with suppliers you prepare for timely input on designs, effective hand-over from projects to business as usual and ensure best-fit maintenance strategies.
You are able to deliver pragmatic solutions, yet keeping in mind the strategic/long term plans. You like to be in the midst of a dynamic environment of a large production facility. You have a broad understanding of different technical installations/assets, know how to lead the conversation from technical background, and are skilled in process management and stakeholder management. You are capable of managing a complex field of stakeholders and know how to organize partnerships with suppliers.

Role and responsibilities

The Asset Manager is responsible for the business continuity and uptime for the maintenance operations of CRE Facilities & Maintenance. As the expert counterpart, the Asset Manager manages supports suppliers with complex issues and continuous improvement in order to ensure and improve the reliability of assets. The core of this position lies in the advisory role as an highly skilled expert that is knowledgeable in all fields of expertise and able to judge and coordinate solutions from an integrated manner. Additionally, the Asset Manager is responsible to organize effective and efficient operations.

The Asset Manager is part of the local organization and executes his/her role for all sites in the Netherlands.

Main Responsibilities:
-Manage the business continuity strategy and increase business continuity/minimize risks by continuously optimizing asset maintenance plans and execution.
-(co-)Develop a maintenance strategy that is in alignment with the business objectives, taking into account the conditions of assets, capacity plans and possible related business continuity risks.
-Manage the MJOP together with the Program Managers and the Hard Services Specialist. From quality and business continuity perspective judge and give advice about maintenance plans, replacements and upgrades.
-Judge and give advice about proposed solutions for improvements to assets and installations. Ensure that optimal execution plans are prepared in alignment with the planning of the ASML business sectors (production) and act as the single point of contact between the business sectors and suppliers.
-Bring in technical expertise in projects, design reviews and studies.
-Manage the escalation, issue resolution and recovery processes to ensure that business continuity and uptime targets are met.

Education and experience

-BSc or MSc degree in technical and/or engineering education. Preferably complemented with courses/experience in business management, project management.
-5+ years of experience relevant working experience.
-Experience in industrial environments is a must have.

Context of the position

ASML is the global leading company in lithography-based chip-making equipment. CRE enables the mission of ASML by providing and maintaining a consistent set of physical assets (buildings, production facilities and workplaces) to support the primary processes of ASML in an optimal manner.
The Technical Asset Manager is part of the organization in the Netherlands. In addition to that, the Technical Asset Manager might be involved in developing global policies and processes to support other Asset Managers in the rest of the world where ASML is active (mainly production locations/factories).
