Introduction to the job

Are you challenged by the engineering of high-tech semiconductor equipment products? And are you a software design engineer with experience in embedded systems, C programming and VxWorks? Then join the Business Line Mature Products and Services (BL MPS) department and help us support our PAS 55000 systems. In this job you will be involved with all aspects of our systems, not only the software but the full functionality.

Role and responsibilities

As an embedded software design engineer you are responsible for the following:

  • specify, re-design, replace critical software components, while maintaining the existing architecture.
  • contribute to the master plan by making a realistic work break down.
  • work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • optimizing quality of the software aspects of the modules.
  • develop and implement the software project in close cooperation with stakeholders.
  • perform software and integration testing on test-rigs with the new racks and PAS 5500 proto systems with the new racks.
  • identify and integrate the design/solution and contribute to documentation and knowledge base.

Education and experience

You have:

  • a bachelor degree or higher in computer science, information technology, mathematics or equivalent.
  • at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • software design experience in C.
  • experience with VxWorks software environment.
  • experience in preferably an ARM software environment.
  • a relevant background in embedded software, in combination with related hardware.
  • experience defining (re-)design requirements, implementation and qualification.
  • defined software and integration tests to qualify new software.
  • experience and enjoy adjusting code within large existing code archives, which are not all perfectly documented.

Other information

BL MPS supports the PAS 55000 systems, the 200mm wafer Lithography systems of ASML. We provide refurbished systems, upgrades, spare-parts and service to our customers.
Our Design & Engineering team of 40 engineers supports this PAS 5500 refurb, upgrade and service business by providing long-term availability of parts and modules.
Part of this long-term availability is the project to extend the PAS 5500 systems life-cycle to the year 2030 or beyond. For this a redesign of all electronics in the PAS 5500 system is started. Part of this redesign are the electronic racks that control the PAS 5500 sub-systems. For these rack redesigns the software team takes care of the definition, realization, qualification and integration of the software and firmware.
