Role and responsibilities

Fast market introduction of ASML’s newest technologies requires concurrent engineering by all disciplines. The main objective of this role is to drive strategic and tactical initiatives to secure a capable supply chain delivering the right parts at the right time to support aggressive new product introduction roadmaps in the factory and co-managing the product lifecycle of all San Diego based ASML products while developing a strong, adaptable and motivating team environment.

The team that you will lead is responsible to define, secure and monitor the supply chain deliverables in the Product Generation Process (new builds, installs, upgrades and service products) reporting into the ASML cross-sector Product Team. This includes the introduction, industrialization and phase-out strategies of new products as well as engineering sustaining activities on existing products. As key representatives of the Sourcing & Supply Chain department in the Product Generation Process they are key accountable for and first point of contact for supply chain operations aspects and related issues.

To achieve this, you will be using your unique mix of technical, creative and interpersonal skills and you’ll guide and coordinate your team to meet program deliverables and deadlines.

  • Manage supply chain requirements, deliverables, specifications and risks through key decision gates of ASML’s Product Generation Process made by Product Steering Group (sector VP’s) and Decision Gate Meeting (COO, (E)VP’s from Business Line and Sales).
  • Manage concurrent supply chain introduction of new product designs in the global supply chain from technical feasibility towards ramp and release-for-volume including the critical path of Bill of Material readiness, technical documentation readiness, and material availability towards prototype, pilot and volume systems and spares.
  • Plan & mobilize resources of the planning & logistics project team to fulfill the plans through field/customer implementation.
  • Manage and de-risk material availability balanced against customer service levels, inventory, quality, costs and risks: Identify bottle necks, prepare decisions and take actions towards engineering, suppliers, factories as well as the field to manage the critical path both for time-to-market and ramp
  • Enabling remanufacturing of parts to AS NEW quality by defining and embedding cross sectoral validation criteria within the relevant processes of D&E and Operations.
  • Define and manage the supply chain management requirements during product generation. Ensure that requirements fulfilled in product designs, verified by achieved associated SCM targets/kpi’s at release for volume. Drive the required process improvement changes in the cross sector decision taking platforms.
  • Key Operations contributor in the organizational changes post KD11, from a product driven to a process driven program, including organizing the solution space for execution.
  • Responsible for embedding CM-II Configuration Management processes and thinking into ASML organizational DNA.This will require developing and implementing changes in ways of working not only in your own team but also in cross sectoral teams that have inter-dependencies to yours.
  • Strong development and leadership skills required to manage a growing staff of both senior and entry level positions and ensure succession plans can be developed and fulfilled with a mix of internal and external candidates.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering or Logistics.Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of work experience, of which 3-5 years of experience in new product introductions preferably in high-tech, low-volume environments.At least 2-3 years of management experience required.
