Support Wilton Factory in Quality metric reporting and advancement of defect prevention and variability reduction initiatives SPC (Statistical Process Control), pFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Lean 6 Sigma.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

Part of Operational Excellence, WF Quality Operations, Quality and Prevention, team of Quality Engineers responsible for advancing prevention tools such as SPC and pFMEA.

  • Planning and execution of prevention activities (SPC, pFMEA).
  • Leads SPC projects teams consisting of Production Engineers, Manufacturing, D+E for implementation of statistical process control in various modules and manufacturing processes for variability reduction.
  • Provides statistical analysis for Critical to Quality process parameters.
  • Performs training of Production Engineers and Manufacturing Technicians/Group Leads on Basic statistical concepts, corrective action plans and details on use of the SPC Software.
  • Provides guidance to teams on appropriate software method for data collection into SPC database tool.
  • Coaches Production Engineers after project release to increase maturity level of SPC to user self sufficiency.
  • Performs more advanced statistical analysis such as hypothesis testing, correlation, design of experiments as required.
  • Can provide clear periodic quality management reporting to other sectors.
  • Coaches Lean 6 Sigma candidates for greenbelts and further develops community.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on improving integration between other established quality defect prevention processes.
  • Plans and facilitates cross sector process failure mode and effect analysis sessions.
  • Advancing SPC as prevention with operations groups responsible for maintaining factory output.
  • Training/coaching of others that may not be experienced with use of statistical tools and structured problem solving.
  • Need to challenge groups when approach needs to be improved. Keep Quality focus.

Key Decisions:

  • SPC project options for desirable outcome.
  • Determination of team maturity level and readiness to take over periodic offline review sessions.
  • Proper statistical and other quality tool use to apply for a particular project.
  • Determining best options for data collection in a given process area.

Education and experience

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Industrial Engineering or Applied Statistics required.
  • 5+ years relevant experience in hi tech manufacturing environment with a focus on quality engineering, planning, reporting, executing statistical process control and process FMEA.
  • Working in quality or manufacturing.
  • Previous team supervisory experience and a 6 Sigma Black Belt required.
  • ASQ-Certified Quality Engineer a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of Quality tools (SPC, Total Quality Management, FMEA, 8-D structured problem solving, Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Minitab.
  • SAP knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
  • Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule – twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week.
  • This must include references to day and night shifts for accommodation purposes.
