As a Quality System Technician, you will leverage your knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality concepts to be responsible for maintaining, managing and deploying the QMS within Cymer.This includes performing system administrative tasks and day-to-day support functions for QMS (i.e., material review board (MRB), Business Intelligence (BI) tools, Corrective action validation, etc.) and addressing, recommending and resolving system issues and appropriately communicating gating items to management, business process owners and users

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
  • Ability to review, approve, or reject all products and materials with respect to quality standards and record performance.
  • Recommend improvements to the supplied packaging or production process to ensure quality control.
  • Participate in quality and process improvement initiatives, and project teams
  • Participating in our internal audits to analyze business processes to look for ways to increase efficiency, productivity and revenue.
  • Participate in Material Review Board activities to control nonconforming material, direct containment activities, and provide timely material dispositions
  • Maintains records and logs of inspections, audits, and other quality procedures to ensure availability of accurate and thorough information
  • Following up on support issues proactively to provide timely updates and resolutions to end users
  • Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business.

Education and experience

  • Minimum of high school diploma. Higher education preferred.Similar technical / vocational experiences is a plus, or combined education and relevant work related experience.
  • Three (3) years of Quality experience within a manufacturing environment
  • One year of experience using computers and Microsoft Office tools to conduct work
  • Experience reading blueprints, plans, specs, understanding product and service requirements.
  • Skilled in quality assessments on materials from vendors and product for shipping.
  • Ability to review, approve, or reject all products and materials with respect to quality standards and record performance.
  • Experience in audits and business process analysis improving efficiencies, productivity, revenue, etc.
  • Ability to maintains records and logs of inspections, audits, and other quality procedures ensuring availability of accurate and thorough information
