The Software Infrastructure and Computer Systems (SICS) department provides computer systems platforms including service tooling and software facilities for wide range of ASML products.
SICS platform strives for cross product platform commonality in order to reduce cost of ownership during the complete product life cycle and reduce service costs by providing generic service tools.
By providing scalable configuration we ensure to meet the requirements and needs of our users to support the broad variety of ASML product families.

As Senior Software Architect, you will serve as a software technical leader for best-in-class computer systems and software infrastructure platforms.If you love designing software architecture and are collaborative team player who enjoys technology, join our SICS team! You will partner with other team members to create maintainable, scalable and flexiblesoftware to support ASML’s world leading product lines.

Role and responsibilities

You will be the technical leader responsible to drive technical design teams and makes appropriate tradeoffs and decisions in order to guarantee the deliverables meet product requirements. Senior Architect has in-depth technical knowledge, owns architecture and requirements for a certain scope, sees the bigger picture, safeguards the architectural integrity, explains the technical direction and links it to value and technical risk for ASML.

You will provide input to the SICS roadmap and translates the roadmap for the scope into a work breakdown to prepare for execution

You will define requirements related to scope by modelling, technical budgeting and balancing across requirements and risks; (co-)author of the documents related to scope

You will drive, steer and assure a proper technical baseline for the requirements

You will ensure technical consistency/commonality across platforms on requirements, designs, and motivation for design differences between platforms

You will review cross-platform requirements and designs and verifies if requirements have been met.

You will take technical leadership of the integration for related scope, guards the integration concepts for the scope

Education and experience

Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Embedded Systems or equivalent.

At least 8 years of relevant working experience in complex technical environment

Solid experience with Linux development or equivalent within a high tech, enterprise environment

Solid experience and knowledge on architectural aspects like virtualization, scalability, commonality

Knowledge of the distributed computing systems, on-premises infrastructure development and integration of open source or/and commercial solutions

Experience with hardware architectures like x86, PPC, GPU

Knowledge of continuous delivery process and technologies (GitHub, Jira)

Experience in working with large code bases and configuration management systems (e.g., GIT, Artifactory)

Working in Agile environment (Scrum/SAFe, MVP thinking)

Within ASML, the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification, design and engineering of the ASML products. Within D&E, the Software Cluster is concerned with the design, development, testing and integration of the complete software package which drives a generation of ASML products. Inside the Software Cluster, the department Software Infrastructure and Computer Systems (SICS) is responsible for the integration and releasing of newly developed platform software, often in close cooperation with the electronics development department. This SICS platform drives a generation of several ASML products. You will be part of a software development team within the SICS department.

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work.
