Introduction to the job

ASML is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of semiconductor-chip-making equipment. A majority of the world’s microchips receive their critical lithographic patterning in machines made by ASML. In addition ASML produces metrology tools and advanced applications to analyze and optimize the performance of the customer production process.
At Business Line Applications, we develop Analytics & Control solutions that improve the accuracy of performance metrics (such as overlay, focus, critical dimension) as measured on the end product of a fab process (wafers with chip structures).

Job Mission
Your mission is to implement and test top-notch User Interfaces and UI feasibility studies for In-Device Metrology (IDM) software acting as a fast-learning software professional and contribute to software realization using a disciplined agile/SAFe way of working.

Role and responsibilities

Within Business Line Applications the D&E YieldStar software groups address the area of complex machine algorithms software. You will join a team that is end-to-end responsible for realization of software in C# in the In-Device Metrology (IDM) software group, which contributes to development of the YieldStar software platform.

In this position you are a member of the SW IDM Applications group (one of the D&E YieldStar software groups). The group is responsible for development of application software and complex machine algorithms for IDM products. This software is the product of a large codebase, which requires best design practices.

In the scrum team you take initiative to address user stories in this scope. You are guided by the scrum master, the software architect, and the product owner. You cooperate with other software team members, and involve Applications and Customer Support representatives.

As a UI Designer you will act as a fast-learning software professional, and contribute to software realization using a disciplined agile/SAFe way of working. You apply software engineering practices such as requirements engineering (user story definition), object-oriented analysis and design, implementation in C#, testing, and integration in the YieldStar software platform.

Main responsibilities:
- Implement and test user interfaces based on (UX) designs and specifications
- Demonstrate end-to-end ownership for feature/story based software engineering
- Software realization, including design, testing and documentation
- Align specifications with stakeholders in the function team and the software platform lead
- Secure both software and product quality
- Ensure adequate fit of software deliverables in the YieldStar software platform
- Provide input for and review technical roadmap
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our Agile software development for the software department as a whole
- Transfer knowledge to colleagues in both D&E and sectors supporting operations (e.g. Customer Support)
- Maintain technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights
- Act as scrum team member

Education and experience

Education:
Experienced BSc or MSc in computer science, software engineering or equivalent

Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in object-oriented development for large software products
- Solid practical and recent experience in development with C#, WPF and XAML using the MVVM pattern – including building custom controls
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals in OO design, software and algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Proven experience with requirements management
- Proven experience with software delivery cycles
- Experience with stakeholder management in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Experience with web development using React and Typescript is a strong plus
- Experience with Python development is a plus
- Knowledge of cloud development platforms is a plus
