Role and responsibilities

The Development & Engineering EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) competence team are experts on design for EMC, functional (inter- and intra-system) and regulatory (EMC) compliance. Skilled advisors aiding in D&E/ factory troubleshooting activities, customer service & support requests and facility management features.

The team currently consists of 8 persons: A competence leader, EMC design engineers and EMC test engineers.
At present, we are seeking to expand our team of EMC design engineers.

The EMC design engineer works on the forefront of any new project or upgrade initiative. Typical activities include analyzing proposed designs and participating in various levels of design reviews FMEA, Critical design reviews, go/ no go decision meetings).

The EMC design engineer assesses any offered design on EMC risks and forwards the results of this assessment to the EMC test engineers who will perform the physical evaluation. The result of the physical evaluation is analyzed by the EMC design engineer, to calibrate the references for the applied EMC risk assessment methodology and if necessary, to update the EMC design guidelines to accommodate new technologies and design features.
Additional activities may include participation in hosting our EMC training program for fellow (new hire) electrical engineers.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience as electronics hardware designer in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Has worked previously (no less than 3 years ago) as EMC engineer
  • Extended knowledge on the performance of EMC risk assessments, design analysis or signal integrity.
  • Basic knowledge of software, physics and mechatronics.
  • Familiar with SAFe - Agile wow is a plus.

The sector Development & Engineering (D&E) of ASML is responsible for the specification, design, and realization of products in the ASML portfolio. Within the sector D&E the Cluster Electronic Development (EDEV) is responsible for the definition, realization, qualification, and integration of electronic functions and modules within these products. The EMC design engineer reports to the Group Manager System Electrical Architecture and multiple program related projects.
