We are looking for a pragmatic mechanical supply chain engineer with technical manufacturability knowledge, preferably shopfloor and work planning/preparation experience.

Job Mission
As a mechanical supply chain engineer you will be operating in a fast paced and multidisciplinary development environment. Using your manufacturability knowledge and operational skill set, you will work closely together with your team members to ensure output and integration progress in our Factory and Research & Development teams together with our proto supply base. You support our front office with quote and ordering process and logistic operational tasks.

Role and responsibilities

Using your in-depth technical knowledge, people skills and pragmatic mindset you work closely with suppliers to build up an in-depthknowledge base of their technological capabilities. Advise engineers on manufacturability, logistic consequences of design choices and support our front office with operational tasks e.g. in-out bound of ordered parts, processing request for quotations etc. (operational buyer activities).

The main responsibilities are:
- Ensure that, not only, within specification and timing of ordered parts but also manufacturability and serviceability aspects are covered in the design phase;
- New product introduction (NPI) and supplier selection with office team:
-Make-buy decision on sourcing part(s) internal (in Modelshop) or external (supply base)
-Communicate clearly on expected results in quality, logistics, technology and costs (QLTC) with engineers and Modelshop team
- Challenge quotations from suppliers on costs, to support in our contribution target;
- Deliverables that secure parts from suppliers in the ASML product generation process, such as:
- Acceptance of the design and/or specification
- Acceptance of qualified parts
- Understand and support procurement in QLTC demands/roadmap
- Define and maintain supplier interface processes, such as:
- Issue resolution
- Qualification deviation
- ASML factory disturbances
- Contribute to supplier development to improve operational excellence by driving execution of existing agreements, improvement actions, and participation in supplier audits.

Education and experience

Education
Relevant technical education (mechanical engineering) – MBO+ level

Experience
Several years of working experience in a comparable technical environment
