Introduction to the job

For our Enterprise Service Management (ESM) Agile Release Train (ART), we are looking for experienced senior ServiceNow developers to strengthen the DevOps teams in this ART. ESM is positioned within IT and more specifically in Core IT Generic & Platform Services. At ESM we improve ASML’s people productivity, through an enterprise wide, one-stop-shop that makes it easy for employees to get fast and high-quality services. We do this with 5 DevOps teams delivering integrated and automated workflows making use of the ServiceNow platform.

Role and responsibilities

A sr. Developer is responsible for turning functional specifications into the best possible technical implementation that is delivering maximum value for our stakeholders. This role is in the heart of an highly empowered team making its own decisions on how to best design, build and deliver new demand. All of this within guardrails set by the organization and architectural guidelines defined by the System Architect. A sr. Developer supports his Product Owner with the definition of crisp User Stories and more, supports the Scrum Master with building a high performing team and supports other team members with their personal development and growth by coaching and challenging them. Bringing the complete team to a higher level in value delivery, delivery predictability and agility is your mission.

Education and experience

As a senior developer with 5 to 7+ years development experience in ServiceNow you are a master in designing, planning, building, delivering, and administering ServiceNow developments/changes. You advise on the solution direction and create technical solution designs, work with stakeholders and functional consultants to translate business requirements into sustainable ServiceNow developments, improvements and implementations. You perform the development of the more complex technical components and integrations and create reusable components which can be leveraged in future engagements. You act as a mentor, a coach and train junior ServiceNow developers.

You have:
- Adequate knowledge and experience of CSDM & Service Modelling and able to consult the business on the best practices within the industry
- Experience in Multisource CMDB & Identify and Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
- Experience in integrations with other systems
- Experience in Mid Server configuration
- Experience in Horizontal Discovery incl. pattern design/debugging
- Experience in Service Mapping
- Experience with IT Asset Management (Hardware Asset Management, Software Asset Management)
- Ability to keep a holistic view to avoid point solutions and to ensure to stay as out-of-the-box as possible
- Experience with E2E solution delivery, including building, (automated) testing, CI/CD concepts and running operational activities (incident management, request automation, problem solving, root cause analysis)
- Experience in integration with monitoring tools for event management
- Ability to identify customer-centric solutions from a technology perspective based on customer requirements

Besides the more technical skills and competences, you’re Agile and or SAFe certified. You’re highly motivated and energetic and can pass your enthusiasm towards the teams and others. Your mentoring and coaching skills are strong and you are a great result driven person and communicator. You are outgoing, actively building relationships while building value for your stakeholders. You act like an entrepreneur and take ownership.

Skills

As ASML is an international organization, we are looking for a senior with excellent English communication and presentation skills, both verbal and in written communication. You will work in a global organization and with a distributed team of developers in The Netherlands (Europe) and India. Therefore, experience with working in distributed teams is a pre as well as having a MSc. degree in Information Technology, Data Science or equivalent and having multi-year experience in IT in a corporate organization. Having a valid work permit for The Netherlands is a must have.
Expected behavior
Working at the cutting edge of tech, you’ll always have new challenges and new problems to solve – and working together is the only way to do that. You won’t work in a silo. Instead, you’ll be part of a creative, dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate with supportive colleagues. Where automation is the new norm and where is always space for creative and unique points of view. You’ll have the flexibility and trust to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems.

To thrive in this job, we expect the following behavior:

- Lead without hierarchy: be the engine of the team and empower your co-developers
- Collaborate with Product Owner to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria
- Feel end2end ownership for the Team Scope as agreed in the Sprint Planning.
- Challenge your Product Owner and peers to continuously strive for the highest level of quality
- Participate in PI planning and create iteration plans and team PI objectives
- Use pairing and other practices for frequent review
- Adhere to the agreed team rituals and way of working
- Conduct research, design, prototype, and other exploration activities
- Coach (junior) developers
