Job Mission
Your role is to become the Scrum Master (SM) in the AIS (ASML Information System) program.
AIS is a group within CSI who strive for the growth of a “one-stop shop for data and information”. AIS currently consists of multiple DevOps teams and ART’s, who develop IT solutions helping the business to make information out of the huge amounts of data our machines generate.

As a SM you:
- Get to use your skills to bring out the best in the people in your teams
- You can use your organizational skills to bring alignment and focus and have the teams work in a cadence, complementing each other
- You help your teams to find out better ways of collaborating

- Together with your Chief Product Owner and the System Architect you strive for greatness

Role and responsibilities

The Scrum Master (SM) guides the scrum teams, ensures timely delivery, facilitates the scrum rituals and helping the team to improve itself)

- Ensures timely delivery of committed items on the backlog of the agile team
- Leads, builds and facilitates the team to become high performing
- Creates transparency and alignment on team speed, quality of deliverables and happiness
- Signals and removes impediments to ensure timely delivery from the scrum team
- Ensures the team follows the technical way of working and ensures quality related to own discipline is secured in the team
- Manages suppliers and outsourcing execution (rituals)
- Creates focus in the team by shielding them from external interferences
- Provides analyses of current team rituals, evaluates bottlenecks and advice regarding improvements in team rituals
- Helps the people around the team to understand which interaction with the team is helpful or not
- Ensures dependencies and risks are managed by the team
- Reporting to Group Leader, operationally to the Release Train Engineer
- Ensures the pre-conditions are in place to start a work item (Definition of Ready)

Expected behavior
- Coaches on agile practices and behavior for everybody in and around the scrum team
- Builds team and coaches team members to act as a team
- Acts as a servant leader and escalation level for the team
- Chairs and drives the rituals (scrum, sprint and program increment), ensures its disciplined execution, helping the team to understand why this is important
- Drives team level continuous improvement, i.e. challenges the team in view of the agile key performance parameters towards greater efficiency
- Ensures alignment with other Scrum Masters on dependencies
- Ensures focus and keeps the teams from getting distracted
- Ensures collaboration between scrum teams

- Timely delivery of the committed work items from the team's backlog
- Facilitation of the team rituals (planning, retrospective, demo, standups, refinement, …)
- Report the status of the team’s Program Increment (PI) objectives
- Transparency on team performance (metrics)
- Transparency on dependency and risk status
- Report improvements and actions from the retrospectives
- Escalations to the release train engineer
- Ensure the tooling is up-to-date
- Impediment resolution and escalation

Education and experience

Bachelor- or Master-degree in technical / technical business area.

- > 3 years of experience in Agile/Scrum/DevOps/SAFe
- Experience with software development/Data engineering/Data Science
- Preferred: Knowledge of and experience with ASML machines (both transactional and machine data)
