The Research Department is looking for a Project Leader who will take the responsible over the technical scope of a research project in the field of plasma physics and materials science.


Role and responsibilities

As Project Leader you lead and give direction to the multi-disciplinary project team towards the feasibility of solutions and fundamental understanding, aligned with internal customers and stakeholders. You are a strong leader and able together with your team to define and achieve the right goals. Next to project management skills you are able to lead and provide input in technical discussion with your team and internal and external stakeholders and customers. Together with the project architect and the rest of the team you identify and monitor the major (technical) feasibility risks and determine and execute the strategy to mitigated these.

Focus area will be investigating interaction between the EUV-induced plasma and surfaces inside the EUV scanners.

Responsibilities:
- Define project goals and drive towards solutions.
- Create and maintain project plans and proactively drive project realization.
- Manage the delivery of results and reports
- Review technical solutions proposed, manage time, quality and budget as well as the risks in your project.
- Provide regular updates on the status of your project to key stakeholders and management.

The Research Project leader works closely together with a Research Architect who guides the team in the right technical direction. This Research project is in close cooperation with the Development and Engineering department, supplier(s), universities and research institutes.

Education and experience

- MSc or PhD in Plasma Physics, Surface Chemistry, Materials Science or related fields.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in plasma physics, materials science plus experience in project management.
- Proven track record on technical leadership in a multi-disciplinary high-tech environment.

Context of the position:
The holder of the position reports to the Group lead Light Sources & Plasma Physics in the Research Department. Operational activities are within multidisciplinary research project related to Scanner Lifetime.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
