The sector Optics Manufacturing within the Wilton Factory (WF) is responsible for the production of EXE, NXE, and DUV systems. The Optics Material Handling department is responsible for the day-to-day material staging of the optics work centers. The position reports to the area Group Lead and works closely with specialists in Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehouse, and Business Planning.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

The Optics Material Handler is responsible for releasing and maintaining a Quality Control Database of our critical optics by streamlining both the incoming and outgoing material flow within the WF Optics Factory, both administratively and physically.

Material Delivery:

  • Ensures on-time material delivery to optical work centers with accurate documentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining QC database within the Quality department in alignment with Customer/Supplier Data.
  • Material Movements in SAP (ECC/EWM/POD).
  • Identifies and communicates deviations both in quantity, article nr. (12NC) and scheduled delivery time. Takes necessary correcting actions after identifying deviations.

Inventory Management:

  • Book material from and to inventory.
  • Monthly based inventory location count.

Material Return Flow:

  • Correct and quick dispatching of materials requested by production as replacement for defect parts or for analysis purposes.
  • Return parts to the warehouse locations.
  • Monitor and process Defects within Factory, RTV’s and Repair orders.
  • FTZ Management-monitoring status, following up with Logistics, Engineering and processing scrap material with finance/facilities on disposal.


  • Resolving picking errors, incorrect deliveries, general administrative issue in cooperation with the Warehouse Operation Support, Production Planner, Clean Room Logistics, Material Planners, and Supply Chain Engineers.
  • Commit to, and continuously improve the standards by initiating improvements and eliminating waste from the process where possible.
  • Supports good teamwork by searching for solutions and ideas by working together with colleagues, involving them in day-to-day activities and sharing knowledge to improve.

Education and experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0-3yrs work experience in factory logistics.
  • Knowledge of SAP or another ERP system is a plus.
  • Experience in logistic processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Team player with good social and communication skills who is able to achieve personal and team goals.
  • Assertive and proactive attitude in order to prevent and solve issues on time.
  • Self-reliant person who shows ownership and is able to make decisions.
  • Flexible and highly committed to contribute to the targets of Wilton Factory.
  • Ability to plan and set priorities (time management).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
