As an Electro Mechanical Design Engineer, you are realizing the mechanical design of electro-mechanical modules of ASML products. Your mission is to find the right balance between design complexity, manufacturing process complexity, cost and serviceability for our products, and implement it in your designs. You will be the main responsible for drawing 3D models of our modules, discussing with all stakeholders (factory, suppliers and different R&D departments) and making the final 2D technical product documentation (TPD), before submitting for manufacturing. Next to that you are also responsible for the configuration management of these products.

Role and responsibilities

The Electro Mechanical Design Engineer Sensors and Light Sources is responsible for the following:

  • Specify, design (3D and 2D), document and maintain mechanical requirements of the various electro-mechanical modules of the team. .
  • Ensure that prototypes are built and tests are carried out when needed.
  • Design according to international standards on electrical safety and EMC.
  • Impact analysis and implementation of engineering changes into the products.
  • Deliver high quality by organizing design reviews of your own work and participating in reviews from others.
  • Make a personal work breakdown and planning as part of a project.
  • Operate in a multidisciplinary team, representing the electrical department in several multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Depending on experience, manage outsourcing of electrical modules and act as a technical coach for other designers.

    Examples of products you will be working on: optical detector assemblies, laser assemblies, electronics racks, cabinets, connection boxes, cable sets, etc.

Education and experience

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5+ year experience as mechanical or electro-mechanical designer, including experience with multidisciplinary module design.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling tools is required, preferably Siemens NX, Teamcenter and SAP R3.
  • Ability to design mechanical concepts, have a pragmatic attitude and capability to translate concepts into practical designs that meet specified requirements
  • Familiar with SAFe - Agile wow is a plus
