Job Mission
As System Architect for the Engineering Simulation Agile Release Train (ART) you define the solution direction and architectural guardrails for the ASML engineering simulation environment, based on inputs from engineering departments world-wide. You translate the ASML internal customer requirements into solution concepts to enable engineering to simulate with a large set of simulation/analyses applications on an flexible and scalable internal and external compute infrastructure, including High Performance Compute (HPC) clusters.
Job Description
As a System Architect you are part of the leadership team of the Engineering Simulation ART, which is responsible for defining, implementing and operating (DevOps) the solution and service. You will do your work within the Scrum and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) in close cooperation with the ASML internal customer, the Engineering Simulation ART and other agile IT Teams to deliver a stable and usable product.
You define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for an Agile Release Train to help ensure the system or solution under development is fit for its intended purpose. You create the architectural roadmap for Engineering Simulation solutions, define the architectural guardrails needed to support this roadmap and ensure that specialized IT teams and partners are developing the solutions in line with this architecture.
Common tasks:
- Align architecture with customer requirements and business value (e.g. operate within the economic framework to validate the economic impact of design decisions)
- Define and communicate architecture vision and intent for the ART
- Plan and develop the architectural runway to enable delivery success within the ART
- Architect for continuous delivery and Release on Demand
- Lead and coach team members during PI planning and execution
Education
Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Experience
- 8+ years working experience
- Good knowledge of
- Computing environments (including HPC)
- IT infrastructure (including cloud)
- Engineering Simulation applications (CAE)
- Proven experienced in delivering architectural principles, processes, infrastructure and solutions;
- Experience within complex large high-tech industry is a pre.

- Agile experience (Scrum/SAFe)

We ensure that these services are running in an optimal way and we look at innovating the services. We also support the IT applications that are used at ASML.
As an System Architect for Engineering Simulation you will be operating within the P&T Hardware department, responsible for IT tooling and infrastructure for the Electrical, Mechanical and Simulation engineers worldwide. You will report to the Head of IT P&T Hardware Portfolio.
