ASML is looking for a highly qualified teammate responsible for providing strategic and innovative employee relations advice to Human Resources, management, and other cross-functional stakeholders on a broad range of complex employment matters and trends. You will enable Human Resources and business leaders to achieve optimal results through strategic and practical advice, creative problem solving, risk mitigation and recommendations. The Employee Relations Manager reports to the US Head of Employee Relations and partners closely with Legal, HR Business Partners, and other functions within the HR team.This is the opportunity to be a part of building the Employee Relations and Compliance Center of Expertise here at ASML.We are seeking a highly motivated and hardworking teammate responsible for providing strategic guidance around HR activities to mitigate risk and optimize resources in complex employment and ethics matters, projects, procedures, policies, and initiatives involving ASML’s employees and contingent workers.

Role and responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to HR Business Partners and managers on employee relations and complaints involving complex, high-risk or sensitive employee relations concerns and to provide fair and consistent performance management.
  • Responsible for identifying trending issues, assessing root causes, and making recommendations on how to address systemic concerns.
  • Advise and partner with U.S. Human Resources, senior leadership and business functions across the Company by providing practical and risk-based advice and recommendations in best employee relations practices and strategies
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Human Resources peers to manage complicated employee relations issues, resolve employee complaints, conduct and advise on investigations including manage timely, objective, and thorough internal investigations including but not limited to allegations of harassment, discrimination, accommodation, and retaliation.Review and provide advice on investigation findings, recommendations and all required documentation.
  • Develop and deliver training and enhance learning architecture to support and educate employees, human resources colleagues and management in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee complaints in order to promote ethical and compliant culture.
  • Develop a deep understanding of ASML’s business and implement practical and creative tools, templates and resources to manage compliance of employee lifecycle topics- background checks, hiring, performance management, leaves of absence,accommodations, investigations, reorganizations, RIF’s and terminations.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting based on business needs. Highlight key trends to actively drive proactive people solutions to minimize reactive work and mitigate organizational risk;
  • Demonstrate a change management and continuous improvement mindset through identification of opportunities to enhance the employee experience through education, process improvement and innovative ideas; offer potential solutions to drive greater stakeholder satisfaction
  • Demonstrate the ability to approach decisions proactively, making effective and pragmatic choices, balancing benefit and risk, and maintaining compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and experience

  • BS/BA degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required and a minimum of 8 years relevant Human Resources experience, ideally focused on employee relations, employment law, and/or HR Business Partner experiences and 5 years of experience with heavy emphasis on Employee and Labor Relations required.
  • Masters or JD a plus
  • Significant experience with complex, multi-state employee relations issues.
  • Mastery of employment law basics and performance management best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data and predictive analytics into proactive actions for the organization to prevent or preempt unfavorable employee experience trends.
  • Experience diffusing tension, with thorough understanding of dispute resolution and employee engagement techniques.
  • Presentation and training facilitation experience.
  • SPHR/PHR preferred.
  • Prefer candidates with exposure in international business and high technology environments.

Other information

  • This position reports to the Us Head of Employee Relations and Compliance and is based in Chandler, Arizona. The position requires onsite presence to attend in-person trainings, meetings and events and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
  • A flexible workplace arrangement (up to two days a week) may be available, subject to manager approval.
  • Domestic and international travel required and dependent on business needs.
