Introduction to the job

The Quality Engineer will ensure “Voice of the Customer” requirements are met during the manufacturing phase and lead quality improvement strategies to achieve customer satisfaction.

Role and responsibilities

This is an early career position for a talented and accomplished recent college graduate. The Quality Engineer in DUV is responsible to plan and execute quality and process improvement initiatives, including monitoring customer satisfaction metrics, coordination of root cause analysis and Corrective/Preventive action, leading quality improvement projects and others ensuring throughout the process the “Voice of the Customer” requirements are met.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or masters in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Ability to participate in quality improvement projects with cross functional teams.
  • Experience in the application of Statistical Process Control, Regression analysis, Design of Experiments, Failure Mode and Effects analysis, Measuring System Analysis and Control Plans implementation
  • Strong problem solving skills and familiarity with problem solving tools and techniques such as 8D methodology, 3X5-Why, DMAIC, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an understanding of customer relationship building.
  • Understanding of process flow diagramming and documentation.
  • Ability to use creative and innovative problem diagnosis and solving techniques that will produce performance improvements
  • Ability to apply process thinking, process design and process improvement methodologies to generate significant measurable benefits
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze, and effectively report problems through written and graphical formats.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
