The mission of the Engineering team is to design, integrate & validate sustainable and reliable state of the art EUV source technology. You work with a multidisciplinary team (physics, mechanics, mechatronics, software, electronics) and suppliers to secure an effective and smooth transfer to your internal customers (customer support, manufacturing).

Role and responsibilities

ASML is using a high-power CO2 laser as part of their EUV source. As a Configuration Architect you keep track, align and coordinate all details of the Seed Module design (HPSM) and the Laser Amplifier design (HPAC) together with our supplier TRUMPF, and entire team in VHV.

In your role as Configuration Architect you make sure that there is full clarity within and between the teams both at ASML and supplier. You maintain the Baseline SharePoint, create release Bulletins, and have regular meetings with supplier, PO’s and SO’s about their deliverables. Your guideline is the Baseline ‘V’ model to guide the Baseline process. In parallel you coordinate the implementation of the new configuration in SAP, plan the Pre-Install deliverables and update the communication tools we have.

This task requires you to work in a team in close collaboration with Architects and POs of other disciplines (Machine Conditioning, EDEV, MDEV or IE) in a SaFe environment.

Education and experience

  • Master degree or higher (PhD) with 2+ years of experience in leading multidisciplinary teams in the field of Engineering, Applied physics, Product development or similar applying requirement based design product development.
  • Preferably in an Scaled Agile (SAFe) way of working and in close collaboration with a large supplier

Other information

The source laser department within ASML D&E is responsible for the high power CO2 system required for EUV light generation to support our high productivity EUV scanners.
Our group, Drive Laser Modules, is responsible to develop the High Power Drive Laser (HPDL) together with our supplier TRUMPF. The HPDL generates and amplifies the CO2 pulses from ~0.1W to ~30.000W. These pulses will be timed and shaped using ASML controls to create optimum EUV light when plasma is created with the interaction with a Sn droplet.
