Introduction to the job

ASML – the world’s leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry – has prioritized to apply Cloud throughout its IT services landscape. The Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) develops and operates a global multi-cloud platform using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure. The CCoE is part of ASML’s IT organization.

Role and responsibilities

In this role as GCP Platform Architect you will be part of the CloudCenter of Excellence (CCoE), a highly skilled team of around 50 people focused on delivering a hybrid multi-cloud platform for ASML worldwide. Key words in the way of working are Agile, DevOps, Everything as Code and strong customer focus. In this role you will be the technical lead for our Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely together with DevOps teams inside and outside the CCoE.

The Cloud Center of Excellence is an Agile Release Train (ART) consisting of multiple teams. As a GCP Platform Architect you will be part of the GCP Platform & Product Team. The objective of this team is further develop, mature and operate our global GCP platform. As GCP Platform Architect you have a leading role in this team and you will work closely together with the Product Owner.


  • Provide expertise and leadership regarding cloud architecture for both infrastructure and applications in GCP;
  • Contribute to the GCP technical roadmaps;
  • Contribute to cloud platform and product architecture;
  • Detect new needed cloud services to be developed and align with CCoE product owner;
  • Review and/or approve technical solutions – assurance of compliance with directives, standards and guidelines;
  • Ensures security and reliability is integrated into all cloud architecture solutions;
  • Acts as a subject-matter expert around GCP;
  • Maintenance of design documents and guidance on our wiki;
  • Be an active member in our partnership with Google.

Education and experience

A Bachelor’s/Master's degree in IT, Business Management, Computer Science or Electronics is required and:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with GCP, preferably in the role of architect;
  • Proficient knowledge of GCP;
  • Experience in setting up enterprise level account structures and security models in GCP;
  • Experience with networking in GCP;
  • Experience in configuring and using IaaS and PaaS offerings;
  • Extensive knowledge in cloud based data integration patterns and architectures;
  • Engineering and coding skills applied in an Agile way of working;
  • Proven track record in road mapping, technical architecture design, solution definition, project management/execution, change/risk management;
  • Work experience from large, international companies and have dealt with or worked for global service providers.
