The ASML Veldhoven office is currently expanding and we are searching for an Agile Product Owner. As Product Owner, you will become part of our agile teams and an integral part of our scaled agile organization.
Roles and responsibilities
As Product Owner (PO) you will work with the scrum team to deliver items that create the most value for ASML.
Our Product Owners are the key figures between the ASML internal- and external customers and the development teams. They determine the priority on the team’s backlog together with their stakeholders and ensure the agile team understands why items on the backlog are important for ASML and how it fits in the bigger picture.
Key responsibilities are:
- End-2-end ownership of team deliverables
- Manage (multidisciplinary) team
- Stakeholder management, communicate and set priorities of the team backlog and ensure the team understands why their contribution is important for ASML;
- Challenges the team to come with alternative solutions when needed;
- Team up with other (Chief) Product Owners to align on priorities and objectives of the team as well as the team backlog;
- Works with the Chief Product Owner to understand priorities for the next Program Increment (PI), prepares the team backlog for PI planning and breaks down the larger work items into small ones;
- Cooperate with Scrum Master towards the team in realizing deliverables, risks, dependencies (in- and outside the team) and identify team improvements;
- Slice the work into smaller valuable pieces in close collaboration with the team;
- Prepare the team backlog for the upcoming iteration and ensure its properly prioritized for the next iteration;
- Ensures that backlog items have requirements, acceptance criteria and ensures that the team understands them.
- Ensures focus of the team on PI deliverables and keeps the team from getting distracted
- Challenges the team in view of the Agile key performance indicators towards greater efficiency
Education and experience
Education
University degree in a relevant field of study.
Experience
- 8+/10+ years of work experience of which at least 3-4 years in a Product Owner role in an Agile a high-tech, multidisciplinary environment.
- Proven track record of Leadership / Managerial Skills within an Agile environment in a high tech engineering environment
- Proven prior experience as a Product Owner in a scaled agile environment (SAFe)
- You have good understanding of basic infrastructure elements, such as networking (switches, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, DHCP), server infrastructure (mostly Linux based), virtualization, database and storage solutions
- Strong affinity following product/services Bitbucket, Confluence, Jenkins, Jira, Stack Overflow

Other Information
The Competence Center Product & Technology Software Applications and Platform is a sub-department within the IT organization. This department is responsible for the infrastructure and tooling for ASML’s development and engineering departments. Within this competence center there are multiple solution teams.
The Product Owner will be active in the Software platform domain. The IT P&T Software team is responsible for the complete software development environment that is used by more than 5000 product software developers within ASML.
This environment consists of an integrated development, build, test and release environment and must be capable to support the lifecycle and configuration management of the ASML product software. The environment is developed and maintained in close cooperation with the ASML software development community. Key challenge is on one hand to have a state of the art environment to support the newest product development and on the other hand safeguard the stability and reliability and long term support for the growing installed product base at our customers.
This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.
