Thejob mission of the newly created position Manager Indirect Tax APAC ismanaging potential Indirect tax risks, compliance and exposure is becomingmore and more crucial and has increased board attention. To fulfill uponthe Central (VHV) accountability role for Global Indirect taxes andconsidering the size of the business in APAC there is a need for havinglocal VAT expertise.

Role and responsibilities

Thecandidate will:
supportthe Central Indirect tax team ensuring Indirect Tax compliancy byimplementing and performing process review and risk assessments for ASML,Cymer and HMI in APAC region in close cooperation with Global EnablingServices (‘GES’) local compliance teams.
coordinateAPAC input of global Indirect Tax projects.
monitorIndirect Tax issues to ensure consistency and upon request supportcountry managers with Indirect Tax specific items.
reportto the Central Indirect Tax management based in Veldhoven, the Netherlands
closecooperate with country tax managers in APAC region for Indirect taxmatters, as Indirect Tax is one of the areas of the local tax landscapein APAC region the country tax managers need to manage
managethe APAC Indirect Tax affairs and be involved in cross regional projectsjointly with the tax professionals in the Tax team
workclosely with ASML tax specialists in the areas of transfer pricing,direct tax and customs.
Connectinternally with all ASML departments and Senior Management and externallywith outside counsel and consultants, tax authorities in variousjurisdictions and other (governmental) institutes.

The Manager Indirect Tax APAC is a newly created role inthe Tax & Customs team. Indirect Tax responsibility is currently heldby the Lead Expertise Teams to whom you will report. As the Financeorganization and Tax & Customs organization – as part of thisorganization – are in transition to remain best organized performing theirroles and the Tax & Customs team remaining in control of itscompliance domain given growth of the company, the reporting line maychange in due time.
Responsibilities of the role:
Ensure Indirect tax risk management in APAC throughsetting up and implementing local Indirect Tax Control frameworks (’TCF’)in joint cooperation with the Central Indirect Tax team, Shared ServiceCenter Asia (Korea) and Global Enabling Services (‘GES’) local complianceteams in the region
Manage Indirect Tax audits and Indirect Tax exposure forAPAC
Spot and implement Indirect Tax opportunities, whererequired and possible.
Support and execute the global Indirect Tax strategy ofthe ASML group of companies and contribute to an adequate taxinfrastructure in order to manage and reduce Indirect Tax exposures
Provide effective and efficient Indirect Tax advice tosenior management, sustainable with respect to knownexpectedfuture business and/or tax legislative developments
Participate in cross-sector projects as APAC Indirect Taxrepresentative of the T&C team;
Ensure the management and completion of various regionaltax projects and ensure project deliverables are completed timely, withinscope and within budget.

Education and experience

8 years above preferred, Master
