ASML has launched its transformation towards Global Enabling Services (GES) to deliver world-class transactional & operational support services organized around E2E processes. Finance is the first mover soon expected to be followed by other services. Within Finance we have established the E2E cycles, Financial Services, Supplier Financial Services, Customer Financial Services and Employee Financial Services.

To realize our world class ambition we are looking for a financial controller in the Consolidation and Statutory reporting team. The financial controller has a broad responsibility, supporting the monthly and quarterly consolidation and close process, preparation of compliant interim and annual report including the sustainability reporting and involve in the intercompany accounting. Also he/she is responsible for the assisting in preparation of the statutory financial statements for EMEA. You will be working with a team of highly engaged professionals located in Veldhoven.

The role is a pivotal role in the organization given the broad scope and impact. As all accounting processes come together in the consolidation process, it offers a full perspective on ASML. Part of your job is to drive continuous process improvement to deliver the best E2E process. Consolidation is part of Financial Services under ASML’s Global Enabling Services (GES) organization, which is responsible for the Group, Tax and Statutory Accounting and Compliance.

Job description

The Financial Controller is jointly responsible for:

·Worldwide ASML group consolidation; On time and accurate internal and external reporting of financials (US GAAP and IFRS), including XBRL filings;

·Perform analytical review on consolidated level to ensure correctness of the consolidated numbers;

·Manage the quality and support on the reporting of financial and non-financial information;

·Perform continuous improvements (process/cooperation/system) to remain world-class finance, keeping up with the growth of ASML;

·Ensure Sox compliance for the Consolidation Processes;

·Closely work with the external auditor;

·Contribute to the statutory reporting process for the legal entities;

·Preparation of account reconciliations and explanations and correction on any variances;

·Elimination of intercompany transactions and balances;

·Assist in preparation of quarter and annual financial statements (IFRS and US GAAP);

·Timely report on month end, quarter end and annual functions and figures;

·Support and assist special projects.

·Responsible and the main custodian of WDesk, a platform used in ASML

Education and experience

Education

Master degree in business related education or Bachelor degree with a CPA certification
Experience

·6-10 years relevant working experience in accounting and preferably multinational environment

·Big 4 experience is a plus

·Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

·Experienced in SAP, BPC, WDesk and has affinity with BI tools especially Spotfire (preferred but not required)

·Experience with consolidation, US GAAP and IFRS;

·Understanding of financial accounting processes, inclusive of the automation tooling supportive to the consolidation and external reporting process;

·Fluent English speaking and writing.

Preferred:

·Experience with SAP BPC and SAP ECC

·Experience with XBRL and ESEF

Position in the organization

The Financial Controller – GES FS Consolidation and Statutory Reporting is part of the Global Enabling Services Financial Services organization, Europe. Financial Services is responsible for the E2E accounting process for ASML worldwide, supporting the business and providing management information as well as ensuring external compliance.

Context of the position

The Financial Controller reports to the Team Lead in Consolidation and Statutory Reporting and works closely together with the Accounting Expert Advisory team and the External Auditor as well as with the other Finance teams in ASML.
