Introduction to the job
Factory Planning & Logistics Management provide services to manufacturing on material
availability for all outputs within the Tainan factory scope. To manage the market
dynamics (demand) as well as long supply chain (Lead Time), the flexibility is the most
important culture in this organization.
Factory Planning & Logistics Management is the main gateway on balancing/connection
between suppliers and manufacturing in the value chain of ASML supply chain. It is
important to understand ASML global supply chain operation and create collaboration
also cross-factories (mainly HMI SanJose/Beijing & Twinscan Factory) to secure TNF
(Tainan Factory) output.
The role is to manage TNF entire demand and supply value chain activities to support
manufacturing from pilot build to volume ramp and service parts demand. Lead the team
by close connection with key stakeholders in Tainan factory and other functions within
ASML.
Role and responsibilities
The missions of the role are to lead Planning & Logistics department, management team
to enlarge planning accuracy toward operation excellence.
This role will report to incumbent head of Planning department & as his successor to
relieve his bandwidth for more strategic planning delegation from TNF head.
As the senior manager level successor of Planning & Logistics department head, the job
contents of this position include follows:
• Support Planning & Logistics head to lead & motivate management team
including group & team level managers of Planning department to share the
vision & to meet organizational ambition.
• Secure eBeam PP (Production Planning), MP (Material Planning) & Logistics
performance (Ex. KPIs) & continuously optimization of work process (Ex.
efficiency, quality, cost, safety, time, compliance) to achieve Hoshin Kanri target
for Tainan factory long-term vision.
• Master & Production Planning, including SBI/MBI new build systems,
modules & CS spares.
Liaison the demand(Central & supply chain planning) and supply
(Manufacturing resources & materials availability) as well as give
strategic direction to the master planning, manage and adjust
production activities so that the agreed output plan is meeting customer
required date(CRD).
Manage work-in-process value and give insight of projected future
supply chain inventory to ensure inventories within agreed strategic
levels with flexibility to meet dynamic scenario’s
• Material Planning, including HMI SBI/MBI build systems, modules & CS
spares.
Manage master data are proper maintained to secure material
availability. Escalate potential material shortage (CME – Critical Material
Escalation) through availability analysis and monitor D/S progress.
• New Product Planning & Logistics
Participate in the new product launch planning with factory NPI project
team to secure material availability of new products launch and initiate
possible logistics cost avoidance prior to transfer to volume ramp.
Collaborate with cross-sector Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
team to secure all Engineering Change (EC) implementation plan at TNF
site including material availability, obsolete avoidance, and master data
control.
• Warehouse Management
Organize & Manage a way of working and relationship with 3rd party
logistics providers to ensure a smooth execution of support processes
on material handling as well as technical support to manufacturing
when necessary.
Drive improvement on agreed KPI with 3PL and develop opportunities in
continuous achievement of efficiency gains, and enhancement of value added service support to reflect on the cost effectiveness
• Project Management
Organize & lead necessary resources, budget and timing to make
continuous improvement of the departmental value chain from end to
end to create efficiency gain in both process and cost to sustain the
department growth.
• Strengthening Planning core competence by developing Planning & Logistics
leaders’ leadership capability, planners, planning know-how, and project
capability to drive continuous improvement. Make sure Planning & Logistics a
learning organization.
• Manage to make best of the Opex & Capex to with the consensus of business line
to meet business plan priorities and at the same time satisfy customer needs.
• Support Planning & Logistics department head to build up a motivative
organizational climate & a good place to work
• Make sure the strong engagement & cross-sector / department collaboration.
Education and experience
Bachelor or above with major in Industrial Engineering or Business Administrative related;
or MBA degree.
• 10 to 15 years of leadership experiences in leading, motivating and influencing
dynamic matrix teams and cross functions.
• Supply Chain management expertise in Material planning / Production &
Capacity planning, problem solving, overall Supply Chain and Logistics cost
management, budget/resourcing planning, people and organization development
• 10 to 15 years semiconductor/equipment Planning and Supply chain process,
demand and supply planning.
• Global semiconductor or high-tech company experience with frequent
engagement with global stakeholders would be a plus.
• Project experience to drive change & influence cross-sector / department
stakeholders would be must
