Introduction to the job

Wafer tables and clamps are the mechanical interface between our machine and wafers that we process at ASML. This is a high-tech ceramic product that needs to provide a nanometer accurate platform for a million plus wafer passes.
The development and fabrication of this product requires intensive and well-tuned cooperation with our partners.

As Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) you'll take over the pivotal role of linking project development and production teams (at ASML) with the related development and manufacturing teams (at our suppliers), with a primary focus on Parts Quality.

You'll be part of the D&E project team and will be in contact with project leaders, design engineers and architects, but also with logistics, procurement and manufacturing-, customer- and quality support engineers.
You'll use your in-depth technical knowledge, analytic thinking and excellent people skills, and will work closely with suppliers to build up a profound knowledge of their IP and technological capabilities.
By bringing this knowledge back to our development programs you’ll enable ASML to make the right sourcing decisions.

Role and responsibilities

Your mission as Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is to ensure excellent parts quality, optimal cost and an effective process flow that meets the logistical demands of our outsourced wafer clamping parts and assemblies.
Your main responsibility is to assure supplier quality during New Product Introduction (NPI) for the wafer clamping department. By being involved with our suppliers, starting from the specification and concept phase of new developments up to the release for volume.

As Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) you'll:

  • Be responsible together with the Sourcing department for New product introduction (NPI) and supplier selection
  • Be involved with suppliers from the beginning to secure the best match of ASML and supplier technology expertise
  • Ensure that manufacturability, costs, and serviceability aspects are covered in the design phase, including the implementation of lessons learned from the past
  • SQA deliverables that secure parts quality from suppliers such as the Statement Of Work, TPD Acceptance by Supplier, (Proto) Evaluation reports, manufacturing flows, P-FMEA, Test Coverage Documents including SPC and Part Qualification Report
  • Arrange and control supplier interface processes for the resolution of issues, evaluation of root cause analysis, qualification deviation, configuration management
  • Contribute to supplier development to improve operational excellence by driving the execution of existing agreements and improvement actions

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree in mechanical/mechatronic/material (science) engineering or physics
  • A broad experience (more than 8 years) in high-tech industry
  • Experience with complex modules with a focus on supplier quality management, and broad technical knowledge
