Strategic Decision Support Consultant

Introduction to the job

The Strategic Decision Support (SDS) department focusses on strategic and complex business decisions across ASML. While being part of the Finance organization and through its broad scope, the SDS department is involved with and exposed to very diverse challenges such as: Capacity decisions, Footprint, Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategy Development, Portfolio Development. As a Decision Support Consultant you support, lead and facilitate project teams to enable ASML’s key decision makers to make high quality decisions.

Role and responsibilities

• You support, lead and facilitate project teams and guide the teams through the necessary dialogue and analysis appropriate for the decision situation and related governance timelines.
• You help prepare and explain high quality (quantitative) insights, provide senior management a solid basis for decision making.
• You actively interact with internal stakeholders to help the organization apply best practices in decision making, train staff towards understanding and applying decision science concepts.
• You are involved in M&A valuation and transactions processes if the situation occurs

Education and experience

To qualify for this position, you need to be able to demonstrate deep analytical skills and at the same time very strong people and communication skills. Typically a completed quantitative study at master or PhD level (e.g. operations research, econometrics, mathematics, engineering or physics) serves as a good basis to be successful in this role while an affinity with finance or (business) economics will be essential. The essential quantitative skills that are required in this job should in such case be demonstrated through specific and equivalent past working experience.

You have 5-10 years of experience in strategy/management consulting, or similar background. You have demonstrated seniority in facilitating senior stakeholders through a structured dialogue in a complex organization and in the field of strategy, R&D, product portfolio management, operations, supply chain management or merger & acquisitions. You have solid experience in leading strategy projects for C-level decision makers.

You have excellent analytical and problem structuring skills and the ability to go into detail if the situation requires to do so. Apart from the quantitative skills we look for a person that is highly empathetic and can generate and effectively communicate fact based insights with a wide range of stakeholders, and most importantly C-level decision makers. You are a self-aware team player, flexible and with a proactive approach you thrive in a highly demanding, dynamic environment. You are fluent in English and preferably Dutch.
