Introduction to the job

As an Optical Sensing Engineer, you will design, realize, and improvethe metrology functions and sensors, as well as other optical related modules on the ASML-HMI products.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

Responsible for all research, design, development, test and qualification of Optical Sensing design for ASML-HMI products, such as wafer alignment design, optical sensors, Optical microscope, Laser optics, Optical metrology tools, etc..
Opto-Mechanical design of ACC, Z-sensor and optical microscope modules. Improve the Opto-Mechanical design to meet the requirement in the ASML-HMI system.
Maintain all the documentation such as BOM, part drawings, and other design files, etc. to follow the improvement of optical modules. Implement technical support to outsourcing production group for the troubleshooting.
Improve the wafer alignment process, such as time consumer, failure rate, etc..
Improve the mechanical stability, thermal drifting, stray light etc. of optical modules to meet the requirement in the ASML-HMI system. Troubleshooting the Opt-mechanical relevant issue from the field and MFG.
Maintain instruments in optical laboratory and keep and improve optical safety in the lab.
Design metrology competence training projects.
Provide technical support in opt-mechanical engineering aspect to SEM group, mechanical group, or other relative group.

Education and experience

Ph.D. or Master in science with more than 2 years’ working experience.
Familiar with optical design software, such as Zemax or Code v, etc..
Familiar with opt-mechanics design, including software/technical tools, such as NX or Solidworks,etc.
Hands on experience in high accuracy optical alignments.
Data analysis with excel, MATLAB or python, etc.
Strong English communication skills – both written and oral, ability to influence.
