ASML is the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or chips. Multi e-Beam Inspection tools are part of ASML’s holistic lithography portfolio. ASML has an Electron Optical competence center in Delft with multi-disciplinary teams where we have combined Research with Development, Engineering and Industrialization.

Job Mission

We are looking for an experienced System Industrial Engineer who will work closely with other engineers in development and engineering and who is responsible for reviewing designs of the most advanced MBI systems to date. A System Industrial Engineer will participate in electron optics system integration, prototype testing, documentation, and the making and maintaining of procedures. You will also participate in the early design phase of the product life-cycle, work closely with designers to ensure the designs are fit for high volume manufacturing. In short, the industrial engineer is the bridge between the development & engineering activities and the full industrialization of a product.
ASML will develop a new generation Multi e-Beam product from our site in Delft in close collaboration with D&E sites in California (San Jose) and Taiwan. The task of industrializing this product is our responsibility and we are looking for an experienced engineer who supports us in ensuring that all hardware delivering projects deliver designs which are industrialized.

Job Description
As System Industrial Engineer, you would;
• Identify points of improvement in designs with an eye on manufacturability during the design phase and be able to perform failure diagnostics and analysis to identify root causes and improve yield during high volume manufacturing
• Design manufacturing & integration sequences to optimize cycle time and maximize performance, taking up ownership of the manufacturing process
• Interface with designers and stakeholders by explaining/presenting technology aspects from an industrialization point of view
• Roll-up of the industrialization deliverables from all contributing projects to ensure the product as a whole meets it’s industrialization targets
• Validate performance data on prototype systems
• Take ownership of machine uptime and availability
• Cooperate with other engineering groups to assemble, test and qualify the newly designed sub-modules and ensure that integration and qualification at system level is successful, and take responsibility for the result
• Develop the required supporting documentation, such as assembly, calibration and qualification procedures; Transfer all related new designs, documentation and associated tooling and provide necessary trainings & knowledge sharing workshops to the factory and customer support
• Be responsible for setting up diagnostic frameworks.

Education and experience

You have a MSc or BSc in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or relevant fields. Other technical & engineering backgrounds will also be considered if working experience demonstrates suitable & applicable skills.

• You have a minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience in the field of Industrial Engineering, or direct experience with industrializing products and systems after their R&D phase
• You have experience with transferring ownership of a product to a manufacturing team
• Demonstrated experience with verification and validation of complex systems
• Suitable experience with setting up technical processes and subsequent monitoring and maintaining of procedures.
• Understanding of supply chain management is a plus
• Any prior experience in lithography, metrology or inspection tools is a plus
• Experience with industrial (quality) standards is a plus

Context of the position

ASML’s Development & Engineering (D&E) sector is responsible for the specification, design and realization of all products in the ASML portfolio and has a department in Delft.
Within the D&E sector, our department is responsible for functions, modules, technical competences and qualification tools for inspection equipment, in particular multi-beam electron microscopes.
This position is in principle full time (40h) and is located in Delft, Zuid Holland, the Netherlands. Travel between 10% – 30%.
