For ASML data is an asset which has an increasing business value and which we need to protect and properly manage. Therefore managing our data assets (quality, definitions, owners, change control,..) becomes increasingly important, including defining and maintaining data models/data lineage. Managing the data and information related to our complex products and enterprise business processes is of the highest importance to ASML as this data and information is used throughout the company to manage and improve our operations and products. To have insight in and control over the creation and consumption of our data, we maintain data models including connections with our business processes and application landscape. The Lead Business Information Modeling is responsible for steering and governing the definition and maintenance of the conceptual, logical and physical end-to-end data model and lineage for the full ASML business process landscape, while guiding and closely cooperating with the designated data architects/SMEs in the various business process areas.
Your role as Lead Business Information Modeling:
The Lead Business Information Modeling is the orchestrator of the end-to-end data model across the entire ASML organization. Main responsibilities include:
Steering and governing the definition and maintenance of the overall conceptual, logical and physical end-to-end (product) data model for the full ASML business process landscape.
Define, set-up and further mature the data modeling/business information modeling capability
Establish effective collaboration between IT, Business and Data (architects) and define their roles and interaction in business, data and IT transformation
Translate business and IT requirements into impact on the data model, align this impact with senior business and IT stakeholders and drive company wide implementation of and adherence to the new set up, both in the impacted application landscape as well as the connected organizations
Set-up and drive implementation of ASML’s business glossary
Set-up and define Reference Data for ASML
Lead a team of business information modelers and give guidance to CDO on the topics covered. This team might be part of an ART (SAFe) – this is to be decided
Establish a highly effective collaborative (virtual) team of assigned data architects in applicable business process areas
Manage a variety of (senior) stakeholders with a keen eye for detail combined with a perfect understanding of the larger picture
Drive complex tasks to completion and use creativity to deal with roadblocks where needed
Education and experience
University degree (e.g. Information Management, (Technical) Business Administration)
10+ years working experience
High business sense/accumen
Proven experience in a complex and dynamic businessenvironment, preferably in multiple business domains (Innovation/R&D,Supply chain, Manufacturing, Customer Service)
Proven experience with data management techniques
Experience with different data modeling tools;ERWIN would be a pre
Experience with SAP (S/4HANA) would be a pre
Experience in a leadership role in a multi-yearbusiness transformation program would be a pre
Experience in working in an Agile IT environmentwould be a pre

Context of the position
The Lead Business Information Modeling is part of the Chief Data Office (CDO) and would lead a small team of professionals and indirectly lead a virtual team of data architects in the business.
The CDO ambition is to ensure availability of high quality and trusted data for ASML management, employees and customers. By treating data as a valuable asset, we are able to unlock its value for ASML and increasing our revenue, realizing operational excellence and protecting our company. The CDO office is currently positioned within IT and focuses on establishing ASML-wide common foundation that are needed to realize our data ambition, including data & information governance and corresponding data architecture.
