Introduction to the job
Sub-nanometer positioning of the wafer stage and the reticle stage in our ASML machines is enabled by stage position sensors. The Stage Position Measurement (SPM) group within the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for interferometer and encoder based position measurement systems for wafer stages and reticle stages. Our challenge is to develop, integrate and qualify these measurement systems according to customer specifications, and deliver within time and budget.

Role and responsibilities
The SPM department is looking for an experienced senior functional architect. As the main project architect you will have the end responsibility for the position measurement function from specification until integration. You will be cooperating closely with engineers from different disciplines: optics, opto-mechanics, electronics, dynamics, algorithm development, software. Your biggest challenge will be to bring together these disciplines. You therefore have to understand the technical language of the different disciplines and be able to give direction to requirement definition, technical design and integration.
Education and experience
(Technical) University Master or PhD in physics, electronics or mechanical engineering
•10 years development experience
•Experience with multidisciplinary system design (position sensors, optics, mechatronics, electronics, algorithms, FPGA’s, dynamics, etc)
