Role and responsibilities
Research department is looking for a mechanical designer to work on the next generation modules for our EUV scanner platform. Together with a multi-disciplinary team you will work on the designing, analyzing, and testing new innovative solutions for the next-generation ASML machines. You will be closely engaging with colleagues in the Development and Engineering department to ensure your solution directions are conceptually feasible to implement in ASML’s products. A mindset of creative problem solving and seeking interaction with others is therefore highly encouraged.
Education and experience
Technical University Master or PhD in MechanicalEngineering
- 3 years or more of experience in the machine buildingindustry (preferably semiconductor related)
- Experience with CAD in Siemens NX
- Experience with Finite Element modeling and analysis(FEA)
- Experience with designing a new machine (module)
- Affinity with positioning stages.

This position is within the Research department of ASML. At research, we aim to identify and fill the technological gaps within ASML, extending roadmaps of the lithography and metrology market. We work in small, diverse, and multidisciplinary teams of approximately 5 to 15 persons and deliver a proof of concepts or fundamental understanding that can be valorized and transferred within the company. We intensively work together with external research institutes and universities. Your typical project work consists of developing and analyzing technical innovations to create a new machine module. You will interact closely with your team to share your work and together steer all ongoing developments, aiming to demonstrate technical feasibility. You will also collaborate with experts outside our department seeking to understand problems, context, earlier ideas, and refine your own.
At the research department it is highly encouraged to spend time on activities outside your project, contributing to either technical or interpersonal subjects.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
