Introduction to the job

As Senior Architect Machine Data Governance you are responsible to set up, manage and guard the required architecture for proper change control on data that is generated by ASML equipment. You will be the architect of data related applications which enable mature data governance on external interface data (e.g. System Interface Change editor) and for other data related tools (e.g. around ADELs).

You will lead the Product Data Governance competence.

You will act as co-chairman of the change control board for application interfaces and will drive continuous improvement of the change control process in line with agreements and in such a way that our customers are informed timely and sufficiently on changes in external interfaces.

You will ensure proper change management on the ASML metadata model in Data Governance Center (Collibra).

If needed you will actively define and lead the required changes to adopt existing agreements, ways of working and processes. To achieve this you will involve the right expertise from other architects and data experts, engage and motivate people to do the required change management and successfully bring data change control to a higher maturity level.

Role and responsibilities

  • Competence lead Product Data Governance competence: chairthe competence meeting, maintain architecture roadmap, build network withinproduct data and contribute to other data related competences
  • Co-chair and continuously improve change control board for applicationinterfaces
  • Own the Data Governance Center metadata model and chair datamodeling change request meeting, ensuring alignment with CDO
  • Collect requirements on machine data management tools and drive designdocuments (EPS/EDS), support in formulating project proposals anddevelopment estimates
  • Provide training on external interfaces tosoftware engineers and set up other ways totransfer knowledge and skills on machine data to the D&E organization
  • Support the organization to mature into a governed organizationwith established processes, implemented and documented rules andguidelines: embed equipment data change control,safeguarding metadata quality and datamanagement in existing processes (e.g. software development process)
  • Ensure an architecture is in place in which changes to equipmentdata and metadata do not unexpectedly impact the functioning of ourequipment and are timely communicated to stakeholders (customers and ASMLinternal departments and users)
  • Contribute to the ASML data governance framework; roles, processes,data lineage, trusted data sets and data governance center capabilitiesand technology and seek for best practices in close alignment with CDO
  • Orchestrate and contribute to ASML machine data model andimplementation strategy
  • Contribute to the Digital Platform architecture

Education and experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in field of Technology, IT or Business
  • Data management architecture and process experience and knowledge
  • Preferably knowledge of Data Management Body Of Knowledge (DMBOK) orcomparable
  • Knowledge on data management change control processes,including data governance frameworks, data quality frameworks and standards

To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in high-tech environment (orcomparable complex R&D environment) in the field of data architecture,data definitions, data management processes and data management
  • Experience in data related projects (big data analytics, dataquality,data governance orcomparable) is a must.
  • Knowledge of data structures and modeling, proficient in datamodeling, capable to distinguish between logical and physical (meta)datalevels
  • Affinity with software coding, software solutions, standards andguidelines, familiar with software development process and the variousstages in software development
  • Understanding the technicalities of data security and dataprotection
  • Basic understanding on data lineage and data pipelines
  • Familiar with agile way of working
  • Knowledge of Collibra Data Governance Center (or comparable)
  • Preferably knowledge ofPolarion and ability to use Polarion
  • Preferably knowledge on XML and XSD
  • Knowledge of enterprise architect is a plus
