Role and responsibilities

As electrical designer, you’ll be responsible for designingelectronic materials, equipment and modules to support various feature of Electro-Optic applications. Role of this position is to design digital/mixed signal circuits based on system requirements and collaborating with domain architect to derive performance specifications for development phases all the way from design, prototyping to validation.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
The daily job will include but not limited to:
Develop and design image scan and pre-processing systems, including wide bandwidth amplifiers, high speed A/D, D/A, and filters.
Develop and design high density FPGA based circuits based on system specifications
Circuits thermal and simulation design, including hardware simulation and HDL code simulation.
High speed data acquisition and distribution design.
Work with sub-system architect, derive design and test specifications for specific digital/mixed signal module
Design high voltage amplifier with both excellent frequency domain and time domain response for e-beam inspection tools
Conduct schematic capture, circuit simulation, PCB layout
Conduct module prototyping, debug, and full function bench test
Support module level, sub-system level, and system level integration in the lab or cleanroom

Education and experience

Bachelors with 8+ years hands-on experience, Masters with 5+ years hands-on experiences in electrical engineering or relevant fields.

Minimum qualifications:
1+ years FPGA based circuits design experience
1+ years high speed signal circuits design experience
3+ years digital relevant circuits design experience
Strong English communication skills and team work attitude

To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:

High precision signal system design includes analog front-end circuits, low-noise amplifiers, high speed A/D and D/A, Op-Amp, wide bandwidth amplifiers, passive and active filters

High speed digital circuits and interface design including LVDS, DDR3/4 SDRAM, PCIe 2/3, Gigabit Ethernet, SFP+/QSFP, which are based on FPGA, DSP, and MCU.
High frequency or high speed circuits design and experience, including signal integrity and power integrity, transmission line, noise analysis, high-speed circuit layout with high-density BGA devices
Schematic, PCB layout with OrCAD Capture/Allegro or Xpedition tooling
Experience of TI-TINA for circuit simulation
Familiar with lab environment hands-on works using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzer, and signal/function generator.
Experience of prototyping, conceptual design, feasibility analysis, components selection, hardware bring-up, debugging, and full function bench test.

Following skillsets are plus:
Quartus Prime tooling for Intel(Altera) FPGA design
HDL coding experience for FPGA/CPLD
DFM/DFT experience for mass production
Experience in image scan and pre-processing systems
EMC/EMI knowledge for system level
