ASML is seeking a regional Ethics & Compliance Officer to be part of its worldwide Legal team, based in Taiwan, who will drive implementation of the global Ethics & Compliance program within the Asia Region, including establishing, embedding and enforcing elements of the program, with a goal to enhance the compliance mindset and maturity of the regional organization, and ensure that ASML continues to operate with the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct.The Regional Ethics & Compliance Officer will partner with the Head of Legal & Compliance Taiwan/Singapore/Malaysia and country management teams to establish and perpetuate a “tone at the top” at the country and regional level that reflects ASML’s commitment to compliance and embed a culture of high performance with integrity at all levels in the organization.
Role and responsibilities
Under the overall leadership of the regional Head of Legal & Compliance Taiwan/Singapore/Malaysia based in Taiwan, and in close coordination with the Global Chief Compliance Officer and Global Chief Ethics Officer based in the Netherlands, enable and drive compliant and ethical business conduct through the effective implementation of the Ethics & Compliance program at the region / country level.
Workingclosely with global and local stakeholders, the successful candidate will:
Regionally implementGlobal Legal Compliance & Ethics programs, including Code of Conduct,Anti-bribery & Corruption, Conflicts of Interest, and Speak Up, drivingthe establishment and maintenance of local procedures for the relevantpolicies at the regional and country level, and developing, implementing andcoordinating a regional training strategy on these topics;
Stay abreast ofthe evolving regional regulatory landscape and guidance along with industryleading practices in all relevant areas relevant to the ASML business andoperations;
Act as thebridge between the Global Compliance & Ethics Office and regional managementon Ethics & Compliance programs and topics, continually providing adviceand guidance to the region / country management relevant topics, challengesand major initiatives;
Organize andlead the local Ethics liaison organization with support and content from theEthics Office;
Together withthe Global Ethics Office and/or the Global or Local Legal team, investigateEthics incidents and claims, including harassment, bullying, fraud, or otherviolations of the ASML Code of Conduct;
Review andanalyze third party due diligence, and implement controls and monitoring forethical conduct by third parties acting for or on behalf of ASML or otherbusiness partners;
Working closelywith related functions, build and execute continued controls, monitoring and reportingfor various policies and regulations in the defined compliance areas,including anti-bribery & corruption/anti-fraud, gifts &entertainment, and antitrust;
Activelyinvolve region / country leadership to leverage key compliance messages andto maintain high level of awareness (i.e. “tone at the top and at themiddle”, implementation at all levels within the organization including inthe field).
Work closelywith local management, Global RBA,theGlobal Chief Compliance Officer as well as the Regional Head of Legal andCompliance to drive the agenda and monitor follow up on agreed actions.
Education and experience
At least 10+ years of experience, whether in a legal setting or as an audit or compliance professional;
Previous experience in a foreign headquartered MNC is preferred
