Introduction to the job

As an Application / New Product Introduction Engineer, you will provide key analytical support for Intel’s worldwide fleet of lasers by monitoring performance trends and alerting field teams of any risk to production. You will also provide key data analysis for NPI qualification projects that lead to customer acceptance and proliferation. You will be one of a few super-users of the Cymer data analytical tool, SmartPulse, and can provide training for both Cymer and customer engineers, as well as create enhanced monitoring algorithms and alarms for the prevention of unscheduled down time.

This position should be based in Hillsboro, OR.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

  • Proactive monitoring of laser fleet - stoplight chart and deep-dive on "non-green" lasers
  • Provide dedicated data analytical support for Intel
  • Preparation of weekly PSP / SmartPulse reports for service planning
  • Collaborate with local ASML and Nikon teams to separate laser and scanner contributions to system performance
  • Advise customer on potential impact of trending performance
  • Prepare reports for laser health (“preflight”) ahead of service activity (historical issues, etc.)
  • Support escalations with data reviews and analysis
  • SmartPulse super-user – develop and set alarms and notifications as required to prevent unscheduled down time
  • SmartPulse trainer for field service engineers and customer
  • Work with San Diego and Hillsboro NPI teams to align on monitoring plans and closure criteria
  • New product introductions (NPI):
  • Monitor pilot performance in Hillsboro, support the pilot closure by providing the associated data, and lead the post pilot solution validation monitor by working closely with OPSC.
  • Support VF monthly meetings (NPI implementation, FCO closure)
  • Works closely with OPSC, Quality and Reliability for consistent application of best practices in analysis and reporting
  • Participate in customer meetings to present analytical results
  • Must be flexible with customer hours and days, if needed.

Education and experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in the sciences with minimum 5 years of relevant, work related experience.
  • Experience with statistics and conducting statistical analysis (JMP, SpotFire or Python)
  • Experience programming and creating code (JMP, Python)
  • Familiar with or knowledge of building dashboards (SpotFire, SharePoint)
  • Experience interfacing with customers, as company liaison preferred
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with or knowledge of Optics / physics preferred.
  • Excimer laser knowledge preferred
  • Semiconductor technology and process knowledge preferred
  • Lithography knowledge preferred
